Michigan State played excellent defense in that game, holding Illinois to 40% shooting from the field and 29.4% from the 3-point line.
Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo's "Mr. March" moniker suggests that his teams improve as they get closer to the NCAA Tournament, and with the Spartans winning of three of their last five games, things appear to be heading that way yet again.
