The Conference USA Championship Game will take place this Friday between Western Kentucky and UTSA.
UTSA was undefeated and ranked No. 15 in the country heading into last week of the regular season before suffering a brutal road defeat at the hands of North Texas.
While it's been by far the best season in program history, that loss stings. It sent UTSA barreling out of the top 25 and lines them up for a worse bowl appearance.
Meanwhile, Western Kentucky enters the C-USA title game on a seven-game winning streak. Their only in-conference loss was to this same UTSA team in early October in a 52-46 contest.
Ever since, WKU's offense has taken off. The Hilltoppers brought in Houston Baptist's offensive coordinator, quarterback and a host of other offensive players this offseason, and it paid dividends.
Despite a brutal non-conference schedule for a C-USA team, Western Kentucky finished second in points per game nationally and fourth in yards per play.
So do sharp bettors expect WKU to avenge its loss to UTSA from two months ago, or will the Road Runners win their first-ever conference title?
