It was a bounce-back month in The Buckeye State.
Ohio’s four commercial casinos generated about $87.7 million in gross gaming revenue in September (2026), a 12.6% increase from the same month last year. All four properties reported annual gains, with Hollywood Columbus leading the state in both total revenue and percentage growth.
The results show a stronger September than a year earlier, even as business slowed from August. They also highlight the important role slot machines continue to play at casinos in Ohio. It also comes at a time when lawmakers are trying to crack down on prediction markets in the state and deciding on how to legalize online casinos.
Sweepstakes casinos are still an option for players in Ohio.
Ohio Casino Revenue Climbs Compared With Last Year
According to the Ohio Casino Control Commission Revenue Report, September revenue reached approximately $87.68 million. That was up from $77.8 million in September 2025.
However, revenue fell about 6.6% from August 2026, when the four casinos brought in roughly $93.9 million.
Those comparisons tell two different stories: September performed better than the same month a year ago, but it did not match August’s total.
For the first nine months of 2026, Ohio’s commercial casinos generated approximately $808.7 million in revenue. That represents a 4.7% increase over the same period in 2025.
Gross gaming revenue is not the same as profit. It generally represents the money a casino retains from wagers after paying player winnings, before taxes and operating expenses.
Slots Generate About Three-Quarters of Revenue
Slot machines produced approximately $65.4 million in September, accounting for about 75% of the state’s commercial casino revenue. That was a 12% increase from roughly $58.4 million a year earlier.
Total slot coin-in reached about $844.7 million. Coin-in measures the amount wagered through the machines, including money that players may win and wager again. It should not be confused with casino revenue or the amount of cash visitors brought with them.
Table games generated another $22.3 million, up 14.7% from approximately $19.4 million in September 2025.
While slots brought in more money overall, table games posted the faster year-over-year growth rate.
How the Four Casinos in Ohio Performed
Each of Ohio’s four commercial casinos finished September ahead of its year-earlier revenue total.

Hollywood Columbus Leads the State
Hollywood Columbus generated approximately $26.5 million, giving it the highest revenue total among Ohio’s commercial casinos. Its 20.1% annual increase was also the largest of the four properties.
Slot revenue reached about $20.5 million, up 17.6%. Table games added roughly $6 million, an increase of 29.7%.

JACK Cleveland Posts Steady Growth
JACK Cleveland Casino reported approximately $20.9 million in revenue, up 7% from September 2025.
Slots contributed about $13.5 million, while table games brought in roughly $7.5 million. Both categories improved compared with the previous year.

Hard Rock Cincinnati Gets a Table Game Boost
Hard Rock Cincinnati generated about $20.5 million, a 15.6% annual increase.
Its table game revenue rose 34.6% to approximately $6.6 million. Slot revenue also increased, climbing 8.2% to about $13.8 million.

Hollywood Toledo’s Slots Offset a Table Game Decline
Hollywood Toledo reported approximately $19.8 million in total revenue, up 6.9%.
Slot revenue increased 11.2% to roughly $17.6 million. That growth offset an 18.5% decline in table game revenue, which fell to about $2.2 million.
What The Ohio Casino Results Include—and What They Leave Out
These figures cover Ohio’s four commercial casinos only. They do not include the state’s racinos, which report separately through the Ohio Lottery.
Sports betting is also excluded. Although September’s reported sports betting revenue was similar in size to the casino total, it is a separate category and should not be mixed into these results.
Ohio applies a 33% tax to gross casino revenue. The proceeds support counties, schools, host cities, and other designated funds, including problem gambling programs.
What September Means for Casinos in Ohio
September’s results point to continued year-over-year growth rather than an increase from the previous month.
Slots remained the largest revenue source, Hollywood Columbus delivered the strongest overall performance, and Hard Rock Cincinnati recorded a sharp gain in table game revenue. Together, those results helped keep casinos in Ohio ahead of their 2025 pace through the first nine months of the year.
