Patriots vs Broncos TD Pick: Courtland Sutton
Courtland Sutton priced at +280 for an anytime touchdown is ridiculous.
There's going to be a little bit of a drop-off from from Bo Nix to Jarrett Stidham at quarterback, but I don't think it's going to be as pronounced as people think. With Sean Payton running this offense, the Broncos are going to have awesome scripted plays coming out of the half, both at start the game and at halftime.
Sutton didn't have a big game against the Bills in the Divisional Round, but he was still heavily involved with nine targets. He also led the team in snaps and routes run. I also think Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez is a bit overrated so the matchup against him doesn't really deter me here.
Getting a WR1 at these odds — against a Patriots defense that ranked 29th in DVOA against WR1s this season — is an easy call.
Rams vs Seahawks TD Pick: Kenneth Walker
By Chris Raybon
Kenneth Walker is a chalky pick at around -160, but I actually have him higher than this to score.
The main reason to like him here is that he might get all of the snaps with Zach Charbonnet going down with a torn ACL in the Divisional Round.
Walker got all 14 carries before garbage time before Velus Jones Jr. closed it out. We've seen in the past when Charbonnet's been injured — Walker had a two-touchdown game, and another game with 26 carries so he's going to be fed in this matchup.
It wouldn't surprise me if he scored two touchdowns against the Rams if you want better odds.
Rams vs Seahawks TD Pick: Jaxon Smith-Njigba
By Sean Koerner
Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a "down" game in the Divisional Round against the 49ers, with just three receptions for 19 yards — but he did have a touchdown. Of course, the Seahawks also had the game well in hand early so there's not too much to takeaway from that performance.
Smith-Njigba has been so good and so consistent all year that he should bounce back in the against the Rams in the NFC Championship Game.
On paper, the Rams seem like a tough matchup for Smith-Njigba — but that didn't stop him from producing in the regular-season meetings:
- Week 11 @ L.A.: 9 receptions (12 targets), 105 yards
- Week 16 vs L.A.: 8 receptions (13 targets), 96 yards, TD
We've also seen the Rams give up huge games to receivers in these playoffs — Jalen Coker had 134 yards and a touchdown and Tetairoa McMillan had 84 yards in the Wild Card Round.
