Packers vs Bears Against the Spread Prediction
The Bears have largely made it this far because of their turnover margin. Chicago finished +22 in turnover margin and turned those takeaways into 104 points in the regular season, the second-best mark in the NFL. On possessions their defense failed to create a turnover, they surrendered 2.7 points per drive.
When Jordan Love has been on the field, the Packers have controlled both meetings with the Bears. Love has been the most efficient passer in the NFL when not been under pressure — and the Bears do not get consistent pressure on the passer. Chicago generated just 35 sacks this season — only six teams had fewer.
The Bears’ defense ranked 28th in yards per pass attempt and when they faced Love in Week 14 — for the full 60 minutes — he torched them for 234 yards, 9.8 yards per attempt and three passing scores on the 24 dropbacks without pressure.
Caleb Williams was the signal-caller facing pressure often in their second meeting in Week 16; he was under duress for nearly half of all his attempts. Green Bay was able to get to Williams, even without Micah Parsons in the lineup for that game, and it was actually an increase from when they had Parson versus the Bears in Week 14.
I won’t go as far to claim the Bears are lucky to be seeded second in the NFC, but I am not convinced they are one of the best five teams in the conference.
The Packers are rightfully favored in this game and I’d play them at anything below a field goal.
Pick: Packers -2 (-110); bet to -2.5
Packers vs Bears Over/Under Pick
By Billy Ward
This will be the third meeting between the Packers and the Bears this season, with the home team winning both contests so far.
The most recent game was in Soldier Field, where the Bears held on to a 22-16 victory just three weeks ago. That game saw 11 fewer points than their previous meeting – reflecting a long-standing trend of divisional rematches being lower scoring than the first meeting.
A third meeting likely adds to that effect, plus we’ve got some rough weather in Chicago with wind gusts up to 35 mph. With both teams in this game already having bottom-10 passing play rates, we’re very likely to see this one as a back-and-forth battle of ground games, which means less total possessions to be had.
I’d be somewhat surprised if this one cracked 40 under the circumstances, so I’m happy to get under 44.5.
Pick: Under 46.5 (-115); bet to Under 44.5
Caleb Williams Props: Passing Yards
This line for Caleb Williams' passing yards is too high given the matchup and the weather.
The temperatures are going to be low with a good chance of snow, and there should be sustained wind around 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
The Packers have a good defense even without Micah Parsons (allowing just 194 passing yards per game), and they don't give up big plays.
Williams only had 186 passing yards in the first matchup between these two teams, and in the second game, it took a trailing game script — and a 46-yard pass in overtime — for him to beat this number.
I have Williams projected for 15 yards under 228.5.
Pick: Caleb Williams Under 208.5 Passing Yards (-114)
Jayden Reed Anytime Touchdown Pick
By Brit Devine
The Bears have allowed a league-high 15 touchdowns to receivers lined up in the slot, and even though Jayden Reed failed to score in both games against the Bears in the regular season, he should be high on the list of TD targets today.
Reed has played 75% of his snaps from the slot since his return from injury a little over a month ago, and with the playoffs here, he should have something close to a full-time role given the stakes.
An extra week off (the Packers had nothing to play for in Week 18) and a healthy Jordan Love should only boost Reed's performance.
Pick: Jayden Reed Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+235)
DJ Moore Anytime TD Prediction
By Chris Raybon
This isn't the sexiest play given the emergence of other Bears pass-catchers, but there's real value on DJ Moore at +370.
Luther Burden and Colston Loveland both came on strong to end the season and now Rome Odunze is returning; as a result, Moore seems to be getting lost in the sauce but I have him priced similarly to Odunze and Burden in the touchdown market.
I only have Moore playing about 75% of the snaps here because we don't know how playing time will break down with everyone available. Still, he's scored five touchdowns in his last seven games, with two multiple touchdown games.
Other Bears receivers were sidelined during that stretch — namely, Odunze — but the Packers now have to gameplan for all these players beyond Moore, who is probably the least likely guy you're rotating coverage to if you're game planning for the Bears.
Moore should see single coverage in this game and has great odds for a TD compared to Burden and Odunze, who are under +300.
Pick: DJ Moore Anytime TD (+370)
