Cowboys vs Eagles Spread Prediction
By Billy Ward
The good news for both Eagles and Cowboys fans is that the NFC East is wide open. Only one team has a winning record, the surprising Giants (4-2-1), who have three games left against the presumed top teams in the division, Philly and Dallas.
The bad news is the Eagles and Cowboys are 2-4 heading into Monday Night Football. Philadelphia's season is on the verge of being lost due to a string of injuries (Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve; DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks are out tonight), while Dallas simply continues to underperform, especially on offense.
With the Eagles missing most of their offensive skill position starters (depending on the status of Saquon Barkley, who is likely to play but not guaranteed), it’s hard to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe Tanner McKee can be a serviceable quarterback under the right circumstances, but asking him to lead an offense where his top weapon is Makai Lemon is not one of those situations.
Plus, our NFL Luck Rankings suggest the Eagles have been even worse than their 2-4 record, with 1.3 expected wins on the season. The Cowboys have been slightly unlucky, with 2.1 expected wins. Add that to the injuries Philadelphia is dealing with and I’ll take a chance laying the points with Dallas.
Pick: Cowboys -4.5 (-108)
CeeDee Lamb Receiving Yards Over/Under Pick
By Sam Farley
The Eagles have given up some big performances to opposing wideouts over the last couple of weeks:
- Week 6: Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker combined for 12 receptions/183 yards
- Week 5: Parker Washington 6/124/2
- Week 4: Puka Nacua 9/125
Philadelphia ranks third for the most receiving yards allowed to wide receivers, with an average of 182.6 per game.
This leads me to Cowboys WR1 CeeDee Lamb, who has been heavily targeted by Dak Prescott this season — 69 times in six games, to be exact. Lamb has run 219 routes and ranks fifth in the NFL in targets per route run.
A volume monster, Lamb is coming off an 18-target, nine-catch performance against the Packers. He didn’t break 78.5 receiving yards in that game, but that's just a bad break considering how many looks he got. Lamb's gone over 78.5 in 50% of his games so far.
Pick: CeeDee Lamb Over 78.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
Makai Lemon Anytime Touchdown Prediction
After starting off the season as a cardio king, rookie wide receiver Makai Lemon has been more heavily used in the offense with 13 combined targets over the last two weeks.
As mentioned above, DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks are out for tonight's game, which means Lemon is immediately going to step into a big role.
While he hasn't been targeted in the red zone this season, he hasn't been targeted much until the last two games, where the Eagles have struggled to run plays in the red zone.
The Cowboys defense has been one of the worst in the league and have allowed above-average yards and touchdowns to opposing WRs.
I have the true odds around +270 on Lemon.
Pick: Makai Lemon Anytime Touchdown Scorer(best sportsbook price is +310 at DraftKings; 23% at Polymarket, which is roughly +335)
First Touchdown Long-Shot Pick
By Nick Giffen
In case you missed it last week, I've started covering the First Touchdown market for every game, every week. You need to be an action PRO subscriber for access to those edges, but for Monday Night Football I'm giving out one (of the four) players my model is showing value on.
We're back to the well with the aforementioned Makai Lemon, who should see an expanded role tonight with DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks out. The Cowboys allow the most yards per attempt to players in the slot — Lemon has run the sixth-most routes from slot in the NFL.
It's worth noting Lemon will still have some competition for looks as Dallas Goedert is likely to play, plus potentially Saquon Barkley.
Pick: Makai Lemon First Touchdown Scorer (+1900)
