The second round of the 2025 US Open kicks off from the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Wednesday, Aug. 27, and there are plenty of matches to like from a betting perspective. Let's look at a pair of US Open matches from the men's side below.
Here are my Day 4 US Open predictions and best bets for Joao Fonseca vs Tomas Machac and Carlos Alcaraz vs Mattia Bellucci.

It's been a breakthrough season for Joao Fonseca.
The Brazilian youngster first entered the spotlight by beating then-top-10 Andrey Rublev at the Australian Open and has since made it to the second round of every major; he won his first ATP Tour-level title in February in Buenos Aires.
Fonseca hasn't been faultless by any stretch of the imagination, but a 17-13 record at just age 19 in his first big season is nothing to sniff at. He pushed past an always tough Miomir Kecmanovic 7-6(3), 7-6(5), 6-3 in two hours and 26 minutes in the first round of the US Open.
It's also been a season of firsts for 24-year-old Tomas Machac, who picked up his first ATP title in Mexico and became a top-20 player for the first time in his career. His performances since have been a bit more hit and miss, however, and he entered the US Open on a three-match losing streak before beating Luca Nardi 6-3, 6-1, 6-1.
It's a tough match to predict given that momentum could be swinging for Machac, while Fonseca looks far from the title dark horse many predicted he'd become.
While it could go either way, I think a four-setter is the most likely outcome.

Carlos Alcaraz passed the test in his US Open debut, steamrolling past an always tricky Reilly Opelka in straight sets.
The world No. 2 was the clear favorite, but many top players have fallen to big servers in the first round of Grand Slams. The Spaniard arrives in fine form, having reached seven consecutive finals, including the French Open, Wimbledon, and the Cincinnati Masters 1000, where he picked up the title.
Bellucci's path to the second round hasn't been quite as glamorous, mixing first-round exits at the Toronto and Cincinnati Masters 1000 with a Challenger Tour-level title at Sumter. He aims to improve on his performance from last year following his best Grand Slam result at this year's Wimbledon (third round).
It's very hard to envision a match that ends in anything other than an Alcaraz win, even if the Italian finds the form of his life.
Thus, I'm backing the Spaniard to continue the form he exhibited against Opelka and move into the third round like a rocket.
Pick: Alcaraz -8.5 (-120 via DraftKings)
