Project game total at 56; a minimum of 28 points scored in the 1H of the last three Ireland games at Aviva. Expect KState to have success against new Iowa State defensive front, Becht to get into KState secondary. These teams eclipsed 60 points last two meetings

Six times in the last eight games on the Emerald Isle, one of the two teams has failed to score in the opening 15 minutes. And if that doesn't convince you to play under 10.5 in the first quarter, just consider the weather. With a heatwave gripping the Midwest, there’s a chance it could be 40 degrees colder at kickoff in Dublin than what these two teams are practicing in this week. 🌞 🥵 💨 🥶

2025 Kansas State Wildcats Football

Kansas State enters the 2025 season looking to keep the momentum rolling after 19 wins across the last two years, including a 28-19 win over NC State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl to wrap up 2024.

But there’s turnover across the board.

Quarterback Will Howard transferred to Ohio State, and his top target, tight end Ben Sinnott, was drafted by the Washington Commanders in the second round. Offensive coordinator Collin Klein also left for the same role at Texas A&M, a triple hit to a unit that had real rhythm late last year.

That said, there’s still plenty to like.

Redshirt freshman Avery Johnson takes over at quarterback and brings a dual-threat skill set that already has some Heisman whispers around Manhattan. DJ Giddens returns after rushing for over 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, and the Wildcats added wideout Dante Cephas from Penn State through the portal. There’s upside, but there’s also a lot to prove.

Defensively, this team could be nasty. The secondary might be one of the best in the country, led by corners Keenan Garner and Jacob Parrish, plus all-Big 12 safeties Marques Sigle and VJ Payne. If K-State ends up back atop the Big 12, this unit will be why.

At the moment, the Wildcats sit 17th in our college football betting power ratings, with a score of 88.2. That puts them just behind Texas A&M and ahead of Utah, which is a solid spot in the national pecking order.

Kansas State Wildcats Point Spreads

If you’re betting college football, you’re going to run into point spreads. A lot.

It’s a bet on the margin of victory. Will the favorite win by enough points? Can the underdog keep it close?

Example:

If you’re backing the Wildcats here, you need them to win by 8 or more. Jayhawks bettors win if KU pulls off the upset or keeps it to a touchdown or less. That half-point hook? Brutal or beautiful, depending which side you’re on.

K-State’s defense and ball-control offense make them a classic spread-covering team when they’re in rhythm.

Kansas State Wildcats Moneylines

Moneylines are simpler, you just pick who wins. But the payouts shift depending on who’s expected to come out on top.

Same matchup:

  • Kansas +240
  • Kansas State -300

That means you’d have to risk $300 to win $100 on the Wildcats, or drop $100 on Kansas to win $240.

Kansas State tends to land as a mid-sized favorite in conference games, so the moneyline can be a good way to hedge or parlay if you’re confident they’ll win outright but don’t want to mess with the spread.

Kansas State Wildcats Over/Unders

Sometimes, it’s not about who wins, it’s about how many points show up on the scoreboard. That’s where over/unders (totals) come in.

Say the total is 52 points.

  • Bet the over? You need 53+.
  • Bet the under? You’re hoping for 51 or fewer.
  • Land right on 52? That’s a push. Everyone gets refunded.

With Avery Johnson’s legs and Giddens’ ground game, K-State can run wild some weeks. But that secondary could keep opposing offenses in check. Totals might stay tight early until we see which version of this team shows up.

Kansas State Wildcats Props

Want to bet on something a little more specific? Props are where it gets fun.

You might take Avery Johnson to throw for 2+ touchdowns, DJ Giddens to break 100 yards, or even something like “Which team scores first?” or “Will there be a successful 2-point conversion?”

Player props are king, but game props are in the mix too. Books vary wildly on what’s offered, and college props are more restricted than NFL ones, especially depending on your state.

If you're blocked from betting player props at your usual sportsbook, DFS-style platforms like PrizePicks offer a way around that with stat-based picks.

Kansas State Wildcats Futures

Futures are all about the long game.

Kansas State opened +380 to win the Big 12, right behind Utah, and if Avery Johnson takes off, that number could shrink fast. You’ll also see futures markets for season win totals, College Football Playoff appearances, and Heisman odds for guys like Johnson or Giddens.

The key with futures? Timing and line shopping. Odds shift weekly, and you’ll want to get the best number before the public piles on.

You can find all current futures markets, the best sportsbooks out there, and compare across books in the Action Network app.
