Chris Bassitt’s road numbers are a nightmare. He’s rocking a brutal 5.66 ERA and 1.42 WHIP away from Toronto, and the Orioles have already smashed him once this year at Camden. Baltimore’s offense is locked in and licking their chops. This Orioles lineup just dropped 18 runs in a shutout win and followed it with a 5-1 cruise the next night. They rake at home vs righties (.265 AVG) and key bats like Tyler O’Neill (.564 xSLG) and Ryan O’Hearn (.373 xwOBA) are red hot heading into this matchup. Baltimore’s bullpen has the edge too. Toronto’s pen? Just coughed up a 6.23 ERA over their last 3. That’s game over if it gets close late.

Vlady has been an absolute animal this year, cashing this line in 65% of games and 8 straight. He will get Zach Eflin today, who has not been good this year. Eflin is averaging 3.3 runs allowed and has had some really bad blow-ups. His three worst starts he gave up 8 runs to the Nationals, 7 runs to the Rays, and 6 runs to the Yankees. It won't get easier for him today vs the Blue Jays, who rank 2nd in wRC+ and wOBA vs RHP over the last month and top 10 on the season. Guerrero not only has been hitting well, but the team around him has been just as hot to drive him in for some runs. I mean Bo Bichette literally had 5 hits in yesterday's game alone and has a hit in 18/L20 games. This lineup is hot, and Guerrero has been cashing this line all season, so I will gladly back him to cash again vs Eflin today.

Gunnar gets a nice matchup here vs Bassitt, who has been great at home, but on the road, he struggles. At home, he averages 1.8 earned runs compared to 3.1 on the road, which is good news for Gunnar. The Orioles offense has been great the last few weeks, ranking 4th in wRC+ and wOBA. Gunnar has been a key piece of that production, hitting this line in 11/L16. Against Bassitt, Gunnar is batting .400, which is in line with him hitting righties well this year with a .308 average. When you look at his history vs TOR, he is only over this line in 36% of games dating back to last season. However, digging a little deeper, most of his struggles have been on the road. In Toronto, he has hit this line just once out of 7 games, but at home, he has cashed this line in 4/L5 with 3+ HRR in all 4.
