Regarding the Orioles and Trevor Rogers, I did not believe in him last year. He looked totally fake, and I just didn’t see how he could keep doing what he was doing. Yet he kept doing it.
Then this season started, and everything flipped. He has regressed hard, and now we’re at the point where we have to bet the other side of it.
Just like last year, I kept saying Rogers is not this good. Right now, I’m saying Trevor Rogers is not this bad.
Instead of being a 6.50 ERA pitcher, which is roughly what he’s been this year, he’s probably more like a 4.50 ERA pitcher. The Stuff+ model actually thinks his stuff has gotten a little better this year than it was last season.
He is the epitome of a regression candidate, so I’m expecting Rogers to improve.
