The Houston Astros (52-55) and Los Angeles Angels (42-64) meet tonight, with the game set to start at 9:38 p.m. ET at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. The game will be broadcast live on ABTV and can be traded on Polymarket.

The Astros are favored, with the over/under set at 8.5.

Let's get into my Astros vs Angels predictions and picks.

Astros vs. Angels Pick

Astros vs. Angels Pick: Astros Moneyline

Houston hasn't been dominant of late and is just 5-5 over its past 10 games, but I still favor the Astros in this spot.

Astros vs. Angels Analysis

Simply put, the Angels are bad. They're 22 games under .500 have given me no reasons to back them on a nightly basis. Yes, Walbert Ureña, tonight's starter, has thrown well and is coming off a strong performance, but the sample size is still small. Maybe he'll prove me wrong, but I can't back the Angels against an Astros side that is still competing for a playoff spot.

That being said, Houston's Tatsuya Imai has struggled to the tune of a 5.59 ERA this season. He gave up just one run over six innings in his most recent start, but is also just two starts removed from giving up five runs over 1 1/3 innings against the Twins.

Imai is a bit of a wild card in the spot and although I favor the Astros, there is a chance he gives up a couple crooked numbers that his team can't come back from.

Astros vs. Angels Prediction

Motivation certainly means something as we get later in the baseball season. You could make an argument that Ureña is the better starter, or at least that he's shown better of late, but the Angels are simply running out the clock on the season, while Houston is fighting for a spot in the postseason.

There are reasons why this game is priced nearly even, but when push comes to shove, give me the Astros.
