Astros vs Angels Preview, Prediction, Betting Analysis

I really like the Angels here. I tried fading the Astros' Jason Alexander a few times a few weeks ago, and I've been waiting for him to turn into a pumpkin. It finally happened in the biggest moment possible.

Sunday Night Baseball against the Mariners. The game the Astros absolutely needed to win to stay afloat in the AL West title. He gave up seven runs in the second inning.

Manager Joe Espada left him there way too long. He should have been managing that more like a playoff game, but he let his below-average starting pitcher stay out there to allow seven runs. Alexander gave up a grand slam to J.P. Crawford, and that was it for the Astros' division title chances.

I really hate backing the Angels' Kyle Hendricks in general, but this Houston team is fading hard down the stretch —all the injuries they've had all season long finally caught up with them.

Obviously, Yordan Alvarez is out again, but the Astros offense is actually a little bit more put together than it has been at various points this season, with Isaac Paredes and Jeremy Pena in there. So it's not the offense I worry about so much as it is the pitching with Alexander and the bullpen, which is absolutely depleted as well.

For tonight, I like the Angels on the ML at plus money.

Pick: Angels ML +115 (bet365)
