Will Priester's Angels vs Guardians Best Bet: Continue to Fade Angels' Lineup

Luis L. Ortiz Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-130)

I want to attack the Angels' lineup as often as I can.

There are several bats in the projected lineup (seven to be exact) with a strikeout rate over 25% against right-handed pitching this season. Some have smaller sample sizes than others, but the fact still remains that this team is striking out at an enormous clip.

Luis L. Ortiz is having a nice season in the strikeout department and has a 25% K rate to both sides of the plate. He's giving up some power to the left side, but I trust him to get us the six we need to win this prop.

Pick: Luis L. Ortiz Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-130)

Charlie Wright's Cardinals vs Rangers Best Bet: Back Liberatore, Cardinals

Texas Rangers 1st Half Under 2.5 Team Total (-145)

Matthew Liberatore hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in a start since April 7. He's quietly been one of the most dominant pitchers in the league since the second week of the season. You could certainly take Liberatore's earned runs prop at 2.5 (-115), but you might be sweating an extra two innings as he's gone 6+ innings in all but two starts and he's completed seven innings twice this month. I'd rather eat the -145 on the first five innings team total and not have to worry about the later innings.

Liberatore is succeeding with pristine command, both in the zone and outside of it. He's third among qualified starters with a 3.4% walk rate. When he does throw balls, he's getting swings. Liberatore ranks 92nd percentile in chase rate. That's a lethal combination. Liberatore is throwing six pitches at least 10% of the time, and four of them have positive run values. It's a deep arsenal and he seems to be employing it perfectly. His ERA estimators are all within 0.75 of his 2.73 ERA.

Texas has been one of the weakest offenses in the league against lefties. The Rangers rank 28th in wRC+ and 29th in OPS and wOBA vs. LHP this season. They're 25th in first five innings scoring.

Pick: Texas Rangers 1st Half Under 2.5 Team Total (-145)

Chris Prince's Tigers vs Royals Best Bet: Matchup Favors Mize

Casey Mize Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-136)

Kansas City doesn't present the easiest strikeout matchup on the board, but we are getting a great price here on FanDuel, and this game actually lines up pretty well for Casey Mize.

He has gone over this number in six of his eight starts this season, including posting 23 strikeouts over his past four starts. While he only had three strikeouts in his last start against the Royals, their projected lineup features five lefties, and Mize has a solid 29% strikeout rate against lefties this season.

This prop is up near -160 on most other books, so I'm grabbing the discount here on a pretty low bar at 3.5 strikeouts.

Pick: Casey Mize Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-136)
