Today, Taijuan Walker and Janson Junk are two of the starting pitchers getting the ball in the early-day games. Meanwhile, Yordan Alvarez will look to conclude the night with another big night against the Mariners.

Let's dive into my MLB player props picks for the MLB games on Saturday, April 11.

  • Janson Junk Over 16.5 Outs Recorded (-128, DraftKings)

Walker's tenure in Philadelphia has been an uneasy one. He posted 4 WAR combined in the 2023 and 2025 seasons. He also had a disastrous 2024 season in which he was 3-7 with a 7.10 ERA and -1.6 WAR. While he has made just two starts thus far, it could be another even-numbered year struggle for him.

Against the Nationals, Walker allowed 10 hits, seven runs (six earned), and walked three in 4 and 2/3 innings. His trip to Coors Field was not that much better as he allowed seven hits and four earned runs while walking two in five innings. This season, DraftKings has offered a new prop for pitchers: hits allowed, walks allowed, and earned runs allowed. Walker seems like a great fade candidate for it.

He covered this line with just his hits allowed against the Nationals and came close against the Rockies. In total, he has tallied 19 and 16 hits allowed, walks allowed, and earned runs allowed in his first two starts. Today, we need 10 to clear this line, which he has averaged in his last two starts against the Diamondbacks.

Walker will be a more favorable matchup for Arizona than Jesus Luzardo, although they did get to him for five runs in the fifth inning, and he finished with 13 HAWAERA allowed. The Diamondbacks have scored five runs in four of their last five games. With Walker's outs recorded line at 15.5, five innings should be enough time for them to do damage against him as well.

Pick: Taijuan Walker Over 9.5 Hits Allowed, Walks Allowed, and Earned Runs Allowed

Marlins vs Tigers Player Props: Janson Junk Over 16.5 Outs

In his last outing, Janson Junk went seven and 1/3 innings while allowing seven hits and two earned runs. He suffered a tough luck loss as the Marlins were shut out 2-0 by the Reds. Junk has allowed two earned runs in each of his first two outings and heads to Detroit with a 3.20 ERA.

Dating back to last season, Junk has pitched 5 and 1/3 innings in five of his last eight starts. One of them was against the Tigers when he went six innings and recorded 18 outs.

The Tigers were in the middle of their late-season tailspin when he faced them. This season, their offense has had more of the same struggles.

Despite getting a jolt from rookie phenom Kevin McConigle and strong starts from Colt Keith and Dillon Dingler, the Tigers are hitting .235 with a .673 OPS as a team.

Power threats Kerry Carpenter, Riley Greene, and Spencer Torkelson have combined for just two home runs, and the Tigers have just eight as a team thus far.

They played several games in unfavorable conditions, and today's game appears to be another with just 1.04 expected home runs between both teams at Comerica Park today, per Ballpark Pal.

If Junk keeps the park in the yard today, he should be able to limit the Tigers offense. He has thrown 79 and 87 pitches in his first two outings, and that should put him in range to complete 5 and 1/3 innings.

Pick: Janson Junk Over 16.5 Outs Recorded

Last night, Yordan Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a home run and three runs batted in. It was his fifth home run already, after he had only hit six home runs in an injury-riddled 2025 season.

Alvarez is +350 for a home run tonight, and I would not be surprised if he matches last season's total tonight.

Alvarez is 9-for-19 (.474) with a double, three home runs, six runs batted in, and a 1.524 OPS against him. Last season, Mariners starter Luis Castillo allowed 23 doubles, 12 home runs, and an .814 OPS to left-handed hitters.

After six shutout innings against the Yankees, Castillo allowed six hits and four runs to the Angels in his last start. His teammates got him off the hook for the loss, but they did go on to lose in extra innings.

Alvarez had a surprising series in Colorado with just one hit at Coors. However, he immediately resumed his hot start with two hits last night.

He's hitting .341 this season, driving in a run in eight of 14 games while scoring in nine. He has recorded two hits, runs, and runs batted in nine of those games as well, while averaging 2.8 per game.

Pick: Yordan Alvarez Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In
