William Boor’s Rays vs Marlins Preview, Betting Analysis

Teams returning from a road trip often underperform in the first game of their next series due to travel fatigue, body clock disruption and limited adjustment time.

When that next opponent is the Miami Marlins — a team not typically priced as elite — market perception may overvalue the returning team. That creates value in betting on the Marlins in Game 1 of a series.

Overall, this system has a 9% ROI since 2006. However, things get really enticing when we look at this season as the trend is 8-3 with an 18% ROI in 2025.

Pick: Rays Moneyline

Moneyline

For the reasons stated above, I'm backing the Rays moneyline.

Run Line (Spread)

I don't see any value in betting the Rays vs. Marlins run line.

Over/Under

I'm going to pass on the Rays vs. Marlins over/under.
