Game 7 losses by both the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns were a great result for sportsbooks in the NBA Finals MVP market, taking down two of the three biggest liabilities for the award.

Giannis Antetokounmpo represented the biggest liability for BetMGM with both the most bets and money placed on the Bucks star. Third on the liability list was Devin Booker, who no-showed a Game 7 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

That leaves Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum as the top liability remaining.

Tatum, once +1400 to win Finals MVP, is down to +275. Those odds trail only Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who is +200.

Tatum leads the Celtics into the Eastern Conference Finals against the No. 1 seed Miami Heat. In 11 playoff games this year, Tatum is scoring 28.3 points per game with 6.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds. That includes a 10-point performance in a Game 3 loss, but he made up for it with 46 points in Game 6.

Tatum will need more huge performances in the next round. In three regular season games against the Heat, Tatum is scoring just 17 points per game while shooting 29% from the behind the arc.

Curry, who also opened at +1400, is fifth in total bets to win the award at BetMGM. He's putting up nearly 27 points per game this postseason.

Jimmy Butler is third on the board at +600, just ahead of Luka Doncic (+700). While Doncic has been the individual standout of the postseason, Butler's Heat have better odds to make the Finals, giving him the slight edge in the Finals MVP market.
