Kings vs Rockets NBA Preview

The Rockets face the hapless Kings in what should be some sort of basketball contest.

This will definitely be one of the most meaningless games played on Wednesday, but there’s also some value here.

Sacramento is 9-15 ATS against teams under .500 against the spread this season.

So, even when the market overestimates the Kings' opponent, they still can’t beat the number.

This is a duplex spot, which means two teams playing within a week of each other.

When Houston wins the first one, they are 15-11 at home in the second game under Ime Udoka per KillerSports.com.

The Rockets need a bounce-back win, and while they have been dreadful against the spread this season, this looks like a get-right spot against a Kings team playing a lot of its young guys heavy minutes.

It’s always possible Russell Westbrook decides to play 36 minutes and goes wild like he did vs. Memphis, but the more likely outcome here is a simple and easy Rockets win by double digits.

Sacramento finally got a win to snap its 15-game skid, but the Kings are still a team coming off a massive losing streak.

Teams on the road against teams over .500 after breaking a 7-game losing streak or longer are slightly under .500 ATS and 6-8 since the Bubble.

Kings vs Rockets Predictions, Betting Analysis

Rockets -14.5

With the Rockets so desperate to get back on track, and the Kings wanting to get back to tanking, this is directionally pretty opposite, even with how many points you have to lay with Houston is tonight's matchup.

Under 222

I lean toward the Under in this spot.

The Rockets tend to bite down defensively when things get difficult, and they know that’s their best identity.

Both of these teams play fast. The Kings are 6th in pace, the Rockets 11th.

However, the efficiency gap between them should be significant enough to drive this game Under the number.

Tari Eason Over 14.5 Points / Maxime Raynaud Over 21.5 Points & Rebounds

Watch out for Maxime Raynaud to have a surprisingly good night and Tari Eason to produce in a big way, especially from 3-point range.

I’ll take the Over on Eason points and Raynaud points & rebounds in tonight's game as well.

Kings vs Rockets Best Bets

  • Rockets -14.5 (-110)
  • Under 222 (-110)
  • Tari Eason Over 14.5 Points (-115)
  • Maxime Raynaud Over 21.5 Points & Rebounds (-120)
