The Top 25 polls continue to shake, as every Division I team has started conference play.

The most important aspect of gauging a team's strengths is winning away from home. Arkansas, Vanderbilt and East Carolina all swept the prior weekend at home, leaving little change regarding our power rankings.

LSU traveled to Dudy Noble Field, only to lose two of its three games to Mississippi State. Tennessee also lost a series against Alabama in Tuscaloosa, while Texas A&M stole just a single game on the road against Florida.

The most impressive weekend belongs to Oklahoma, which entered the week as high as 130-1 to win the national title. The Sooners took on a former top-10 team in TCU, sweeping the series in Fort Worth.

Here are a few notes from the Weekend of March 15:

  • Florida State sits undefeated on the season, entering the top 15 at 18-0. Although the level of competition has been subpar, a victory at Florida last Tuesday will play a big role in bumping the Seminoles' RPI. A weekend series at Clemson will dictate whether head coach Link Jarrett has his team on track for a Super Regional.

  • Oregon State has quickly risen to a No. 2 ranking, all without Friday night starter anchor Aiden May. The Beavers handled Utah on the road and now host a Washington team fresh off a series win over Texas in Austin.
  • Liam Peterson continues to struggle for Florida on Saturdays. The freshman has given up 15 earned runs over his past three starts.
  • Georgia Tech certainly has the ACC's attention after sweeping of NC State. The Yellow Jackets have a lower RPI of 77th and get a true road test against a few skillful freshman pitchers when it faces North Carolina this weekend.

A monster weekend for the SEC will play the undercard for March Madness over the weekend.

Arkansas has its first road series against Auburn, while Mississippi State will take on Texas A&M after its latest series win over LSU.

However, Florida taking on LSU in a rematch of last year's College World Series final may be the biggest matchup of the weekend. Alex Box Stadium will be rocking once again for a potential Omaha lookahead.

In our weekly projections, sides are based on a calculation of ERA, FIP and xFIP. The total is based on the same numbers, along with calculated base runs and park factors.
