LSU vs Coastal Carolina College World Series Betting Preview

Game 1 of the Championship Series could not have gone better for the LSU Tigers from a pitching perspective. Kade Anderson was every bit as good as advertised, tossing a complete game shutout.

His excellence has set up the Tigers' pitching staff to be lights out in Sunday afternoon's matchup, as the electric arms in their bullpen are on at least two days of rest, and they get to hand the ball to Anthony Eyanson to start the game.

Eyanson has put together a stellar campaign as LSU's No. 2 starter, posting a 2.74 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP while striking out 13 batters per nine innings. He will face a Coastal lineup that is better against righties than lefties, but don't expect LSU to leave the door open for the Chants lineup, as the Tiger pen should be cranking by the middle innings.

We should expect to see Chase Shores get the ball behind Eyanson, and Shores is even more electric with a triple-digit fastball and an MLB-ready slider. It's going to be very difficult for the Chants to get the bats going in this one.

On the other side of this pitching matchup, Coastal Carolina has an ace up their sleeve in the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year, Jacob Morrison. Morrison proved he can pitch on the big stage as he delivered 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball against Oregon State a week ago.

However, Morrison is facing an LSU lineup that is bound to get it going in Omaha. The lineup can compete with the best, ranking eighth nationally in wRC+ and 30th in OPS.

We haven't seen the Tigers produce much in Omaha, but their splits are much more favorable against righties, and this is the best lineup Morrison has faced all season.

Behind Morrison, it should be all hands on deck for the Chanticleers' bullpen, as even their top reliever, Dominick Carbone, did not have a stressful workload yesterday. Coastal's bullpen is one of the best in the country and is a big reason why there is heavy juice towards the under in this game.

In the end, with this game set to be another tight matchup where both pitching staffs should be in control, the game will be decided by the lineup that can find a way to break through.

Given what we've seen, it's hard not to back the Tigers.

Take LSU to win this one and take home the National Championship.
