TCU Horned Frogs

After their crushing loss in Game 1, the Horned Frogs bounced back and upset Virginia to keep their season alive. Now, they'll get a shot to move onto the semifinals, but they'll have to vanquish Cinderella to get there.

While the power has died down for TCU, its lineup has still been swinging the bats well in Omaha, hitting .300 as a team through its first two games.

However, the Frogs may need to pick it up even more at the dish as they'll be up against Brooks Fowler this afternoon.

Fowler hasn't pitched since June 11 against Oregon, but the sophomore right-hander has had a solid season. He enters this start with a 3.27 ERA and .226 BAA. However, Fowler isn't a pitcher who will work deep; he's thrown exactly five innings in eight of his last nine starts.

That means this game will likely fall into the hands of the Oral Roberts bullpen, which to its credit, has been much better in Omaha after struggling in Eugene.

In the end, TCU's bats may have gotten going against Virginia, but an explosive game against the Oral Roberts staff is unlikely.

Oral Roberts Golden Eagles

The Golden Eagles have certainly brought their magic act to Omaha, and their first two games are proof. They kicked off the College World Series with a bang by snatching victory from the jaws of defeat against this TCU team.

They then made Florida sweat, coming a base hit away from erasing a four-run deficit in that matchup. Now they must take down the Horned Frogs again.

Oral Roberts will be up against Cam Brown for at least the first half of this matchup. Brown comes into this outing with a 5.50 ERA, but that's deceiving to his ability. We've seen him dominate on multiple occasions, and a testament to that is his BAA that sits at .203.

In addition to Brown, the Golden Eagles will have their hands full with this TCU bullpen. Yes, the Frogs' pen coughed up the lead in the first matchup, but this bullpen is underrated. Multiple TCU relievers hold ERAs under four, and they should all be available for this matchup.

TCU vs. Oral Roberts Betting Pick

While this is normally the time in tournament formats when pitching gets stretched thin, that will not be the case in this matchup. Both teams will throw a very capable No. 3 starter, and each bullpen will have their top arms relatively fresh.

This matchup should be tight as each team will do everything it can to keep the game from getting out of hand. That will lead to a lower-scoring affair.
