Air Force Falcons Betting Preview: Coming Off a Fluke

I'm going right back to Air Force after the Falcons burned us against North Dakota State, because the underlying profile remains strong and this matchup is significantly friendlier.

Air Force is averaging 319 rushing yards per game behind one of the most efficient option attacks in the country, producing a 53% Rushing Success Rate and 3.87 Line Yards per attempt.

Quarterback Liam Szarka is the engine that makes everything go, and his ability to force defenders into conflict on every option read becomes particularly valuable against a Nevada front that hasn't consistently generated Havoc.

Air Force isn't throwing often, but when Szarka does pull the trigger, the Falcons are averaging 9.0 YPA through the air. They're not the typical service academy where they ground-and-pound; they can let it rip through the air at any moment.

The defense also gives me confidence laying points on the road. Air Force is allowing just a 33% Success Rate, including 33% against the run, while surrendering only 19 points per game.

Everyone is going to look at the North Dakota State game, but after watching the full game, I can say it was a complete fluke. There were several plays where NDSU chucked up prayers downfield that either resulted in explosive touchdowns or defensive penalties.

I'm all in on the Falcons in 2026, and this is an excellent spot to take them on the road.

Nevada Wolf Pack Betting Preview: Plenty of Range

Nevada has already shown us both ends of its range.

The Wolf Pack hung 49 on Western Kentucky and then turned around and scored seven offensive points in a home loss to Missouri State.

That's not the volatility I want when opposing an option team that can shrink the game and make every possession valuable.

Nevada owns an offensive Success Rate of just 41% and a Passing Success Rate of 34%, which ranks 126th nationally. The Wolf Pack have also turned the ball over 2.7 times per game.

That's a massive problem here, and I expect the Falcons to take advantage of it.

Air Force's entire offensive philosophy is built around possessing the football and limiting the number of possessions, so one Nevada turnover could effectively erase 10 minutes off the clock.

The defensive matchup isn't particularly encouraging, either. Nevada is allowing a 42% Rushing Success Rate and has struggled to consistently create negative plays against opposing ground games.

This feels like a spot that Nevada can let slip early, and it’ll eventually snowball into a big blowout.

Air Force vs Nevada Pick, Betting Analysis

This is where the matchup gets ugly for Nevada.

Air Force ranks 14th nationally in Rushing Success Rate and eighth in Line Yards, while Nevada is allowing opponents to successfully run the football on 42% of attempts.

The Falcons also rank 13th nationally in Finishing Drives at 5.17 Points Per Opportunity.

That's important when laying less than a touchdown because I don't want 14-play drives ending in field goals. The Falcons have consistently turned those possessions into touchdowns.

On the other side, Nevada averages just 4.06 Points Per Opportunity to go along with a Passing Success Rate of just 34%.

There's also the turnover discrepancy. Air Force averages only 0.5 giveaways per game compared to 2.7 for Nevada. The Wolfpack are making a ton of mistakes in the early going. In a game where possessions should already be limited, that's massive.

With a projected line of Air Force -6.9, there's still value at -5.5 before this gets through 6 and starts flirting with the key number of 7.

I think Szarka and the option control this game from the jump, while Nevada eventually gets squeezed into obvious passing situations, where it hasn't been efficient. The Air Force defense is primed to look much better this week.

Pick: Air Force -5.5 (Play to -6.5)
