There have been some sizable fluctuations across the market for this matchup, as the impact of Hurricane Ian began to get factored in.

However, this matchup has now been moved back by a few hours, which will give the wind time to die down and allow this game to carry on under somewhat normal conditions.

Georgia Southern has gotten off to a solid start to its season, as its high-flying passing attack has overwhelmed its opposition. With the weather clearing out by game time, the Eagles may have similar success against the Chanticleers.

As for the Chanticleers, they are off to a 4-0 start, although they've had a reasonably soft schedule. Quarterback Grayson McCall has looked excellent, but that's about all that can be said about this team.

This matchup will be a true test for Coastal, and we will learn a lot about it.

Knowing what we know now, what's the best way to play this duel? Let's find out.

Georgia Southern Eagles

When you think of prolific passing offenses, Georgia Southern does not come to mind. However, the Eagles throw the ball at the 12th-highest rate in the country, and have had a great deal of success doing so.

The Eagles come into this ranked 15th in Passing Success Rate.

But when you look at quarterback Kyle Vantrease's numbers, they don't jump off the page. Yes, he's thrown for nearly 1,300 yards through four games, but that comes on an average of 6.8 yards per completion.

He also has an eight-to-six touchdown-to-interception ratio.

The key to the Eagles' success is volume. Vantrease has thrown the ball 50 times twice, and should have a monumental amount of attempts this week — given that Coastal Carolina is the sixth-fastest team in the country.

So while Coastal's pace may hurt Georgia Southern's defense, it may actually help the Eagles' offense.

The tempo of this game will keep the Chanticleers' defense on the field, which is a problem. The unit ranks 106th in Passing Success Rate and 92nd in opponent yards per pass allowed, so expect Vantrease to have plenty of success, as he dinks-and-dunks his way down the field.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers

Coastal Carolina will deploy a completely opposite approach on the offensive side of the ball, but it may have a similar amount of success.

The Chanticleers should be able to move up-and-down the field almost at will. They run the ball at the 17th-highest rate in the country, and they are facing a Georgia Southern unit that is 123rd in yards per rush allowed.

That number should make running back CJ Beasley's eyes light up, as he's averaged 5.8 yards per carry thus far.

One last thing that will only enhance Coastal's run game is that Georgia Southern is 102nd in tackling. So whether it's Beasley or McCall, expect them to break off some chunk gains.

However, the star of this offense is McCall. He's been ultra-efficient through the first four games, as he holds an 11-to-one touchdown-to-interception ratio while completing 70% of his passes.

He's also averaging over 10 yards per completion.

McCall should have loads of success, as the Eagles are 111th in opponent completion percentage allowed.

The Eagles needed the weather to help slow down this offense.

Georgia Southern vs. Coastal Carolina Betting Pick

As I said in the open, the impact of Hurricane Ian drastically affected the total of this game, as we saw it drop as low as 58.5.

Unfortunately, that number is long gone, but there is still some value left on the over.

Although the total is rising, it has not made it back to the opening number, which these two teams could go over anyway.

Neither defense projects to have much success. Coastal Carolina's tempo actually hurts its own defense as much as it helps its offense.

Be sure to shop for the best line as the market is moving fast.
