The Houston Cougars host the Colorado Buffaloes in Friday night Big 12 action in college football Week 3. Friday's matchup kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Colorado is set to start a new quarterback, as Ryan Staub takes over under center. However, I'm also expecting a solid performance from Houston quarterback Conner Weigman, who has plenty of big-game experience.

These variables have helped me craft a 2-leg same-game parlay for Friday's Big 12 battle.

Without further ado, let's take a look at the Houston vs. Colorado odds and my college football picks and same-game parlay for Friday, Sept. 12.

Spread Pick: Colorado +4

We'll take the points with the road dog tonight. Sophomore Ryan Staub will get the start at quarterback for Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes tonight.

Staub will bring new life to this offense, which has struggled in the first two weeks of the season.

Ultimately, there's a minimal talent gap between these two teams.

I expect a tightly contested, back-and-forth game that will favor the underdog in this matchup — and maybe Staub will break out.

Houston Player Prop: Conner Weigman 160+ Passing Yards

As mentioned, I expect a close back-and-forth game that will force Houston to throw the football.

Weigman, the former Texas A&M signal-caller, cashed this prop last week and landed on 159 yards in the season's first game.

With a close game expected, the Cougars won't be able to simply lean on their ground game and let the clock tick consistently throughout. They'll have to be aggressive.

That game script will bode well for this prop tonight.
