Ohio State Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 12-0
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 9-3
  • Conference: Big Ten
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 7
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 1
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 18

Analysis: It’s amazing how much Ohio State has improved in my power ratings considering I had them in my preseason top ten. They’re now my number two team and they’ve been boosted 17 points since the toe met leather on week one. Sure, that means my original number on the Buckeyes stunk because I wasn’t a Justin Fields believer, but I was quick to adjust. The strength of this team is that they have no weaknesses. Justin Fields is absolutely elite and with JK Dobbins at running back, this offense has no limit. We all know about Chase Young, but the entire defense has made a huge turnaround from last season. I’m expecting to see the Buckeyes in the title game against Clemson and I, for one, can’t wait.–Kyle Miller

Clemson Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 12-0
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 9-3
  • Conference: ACC
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 4
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 2
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 103

Analysis: Full length chapters could be written about what Clemson does right from an advanced statistics viewpoint. The Tigers rank inside the top 20 in every defensive category, including finishing drives, havoc and sack rate. Clemson is also the best defense overall in defensive passing success rate, an important factor against the prolific offenses they’ll see in the playoff. One thing to keep in mind when thinking about betting Clemson: Coach Dabo Swinney has been money in the postseason. Clemson is 7-1 against the spread in bowl games since the birth of the playoff in 2014. The Tigers have also been money as underdogs since 2016, winning four of five games straight up since 2016. — Collin Wilson
