Georgia vs Florida NCAAF Preview
Georgia Bulldogs Betting Preview
The Bulldogs continue to start slow in games, a habit that dates back to offensive coordinator Mike Bobo's time in 2024. Georgia has a neutral scoring differential in the first quarter but has obliterated opponents deeper into the game.
Georgia has run heavy inside zone with quarterback Gunner Stockton and the running back duo of Nate Frazier and Chauncey Bowens, producing 10 explosive runs and 13 rushing touchdowns.
Georgia is the top tackling team in the nation, per grading at PFF. The Bulldogs also rank 15th in broken and missed tackles allowed, indicating the Gators must be elusive before first contact on their side.
The Dawgs also excel at shutting down rush explosives, ranking second nationally in 10-plus yard rushing attempts allowed.
While the numbers are great in a few categories, Georgia continues to be lackluster in producing a pass rush and keeping opponents off the scoreboard. In 27 opponent drives that crossed Georgia's 40-yard line, teams have averaged 4.2 points per trip.
Florida Gators Betting Preview
Interim head coach Billy Gonzales has seen plenty when it comes to Kirby Smart-coached teams. The Gators' wide receiver coach has not only been on the offensive staff in Gainesville for a number of years, but also served as co-offensive coordinator for Mississippi State less than a decade ago.
There's no doubt about the direction of the Gators offense, which will play with a faster tempo thanks to the interim coach.
Expect quarterback DJ Lagway to get the play early on the clock, with less pre-snap motion. The focus will be on getting the ball into playmakers' hands, which is good news for freshman Dallas Wilson.
The Gators' nickel defense continues to excel against the run, ranking top-25 in Rushing Success Rate allowed. Florida owns a 54% Success Rate against inside zone, a run concept heavily used by Georgia.
Where the Gators get into trouble is passing downs. Florida comes into this game as a bottom-five team nationally in passing downs EPA allowed.
Georgia has had plenty of success against teams using quarters coverage, the main tendency called by Florida coordinators Ron Roberts and Vinnie Sunseri.

Georgia vs Florida NCAAF Pick to Bet
Gonzales made it clear that the speed of the Florida offense would increase with the departure of head coach Billy Napier. Specific comments were made about pre-snap activities and plays entering the huddle late.
Expect Florida's offense to push the clock from the start, focusing on getting the ball to Wilson and Vernell Brown III in the passing game.
Running back Jadan Baugh comes off a career high 150 rushing yards against Mississippi State and is sure to be a part of the new fast tempo.
Georgia has a long history of slow starts over the past two seasons, often fetching a better number in live wagering before the Middle 8.
Plenty of interim coaches love trick plays and fourth-down attempts, making the Gators a first-quarter play until the Bulldogs' staff adjusts.
With an expected increase in possessions for the game, the total points are also in play.
Our Action Network projections target 52 for the full game, but until adjustments are made by the Bulldogs' defensive staff, look for Lagway to push the ball at a quicker rate than the season-long number of 28.7 seconds per play.
Pick: Florida 1Q +2.5 · 1H Over 24.5
