Eight weeks into the season, the Heisman Trophy picture is starting to clear up.

Of course, nobody has ever won the Heisman Trophy eight weeks into the season. It typically takes an outstanding game late in the season from one of the contenders to cement themselves as college football's best player.

Every Heisman Trophy winner has had their Heisman moment.

But there are two clear favorites for the award at the moment: Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud and Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker.

Stroud has been the Heisman favorite since before the season. He got off to a shaky start while his top receivers were dealing with issues, but the Ohio State offense currently looks like a well-oiled machine.

Stroud is currently -125 to win the Heisman after opening at +400 at BetMGM. He is getting 8.8% of the tickets and accounts for 12.5% of the handle. He is not one of the biggest liabilities at BetMGM.

Hooker, on the other hand, is the third biggest liability at BetMGM, as he accounts for 10.3% of the bets and 10% of the total money. The Tennessee quarterback opened at +6600, but with his team 7-0 and ranked No. 3 in the country, Hooker is currently +200 to win the Heisman at BetMGM.

Fortunately for BetMGM, Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels is the biggest liability. Daniels has missed the last 2.5 games with an injury and it's unclear when he will return. It's very difficult to win a Heisman while dealing with injuries in such a short season.

Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy is the second biggest liability for BetMGM, which also appears to be a comfortable spot for the books. McCarthy opened at +6600 and is currently +12500 to win the Heisman.

McCarthy's teammate, running back Blake Corum, is in much better position to win the Heisman. He is currently +1300 at BetMGM after opening at +1200.

USC quarterback Caleb Williams and Alabama quarterback Bryce Young are the only other athletes within striking distance of Stroud and Hooker, but would likely need some otherworldly games to jump into the conversation.
