Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game is no surprise. But given how the Buckeyes have played over the past few months, it was quite the scene to see them blow the doors off Michigan and clinch the East division.
Northwestern in the Big Ten title game, on the other hand, feels downright ludicrous. The Wildcats locked up the West two weeks ago, dethroning the heavily-favored Wisconsin Badgers.
One sportsbook opened this Big Ten Championship game at Ohio State -13 on Sunday afternoon, and it was quickly bet up to -14.
Big Ten Championship Game Betting History
The Big Ten adopted a championship game in 2011, and it’s been rare that Wisconsin hasn’t made an appearance. The Badgers had played in five of the seven games before this year, but lost the last three.
Ohio State blew out Wisconsin in 2014 and topped the Badgers again last season after two years of missing out on the title game thanks to losses to Michigan State in 2015 and Penn State in 2016.
