An already disappointing season for the Philadelphia Eagles could get even worse.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport is reporting that quarterback Carson Wentz could miss this week's game against the Los Angeles Rams, and potentially the rest of season due to back spasms.
As recently as Wednesday morning, the Rams were 9-point home favorites against the Eagles with the game's over/under sitting at 53.5.
However, with Wentz's status now up in the air, sportsbooks have taken the Eagles-Rams Week 15 matchup off the board.
Off the board refers to situations in which sportsbooks stop taking bets on a specific game, often due to uncertainty regarding a key player's status.
According to The Action Network's public betting data, 77% of tickets were laying the points with Los Angeles at the time the game was pulled off the board.
Should Wentz miss Sunday's game, backup Nick Foles would get the nod for Philadelphia.
Foles famously led the Eagles to a victory over the Patriots in Super Bowl 52, but struggled in two starts this season while Wentz worked his way back from a torn ACL.
Per our Bet Labs data, Wentz is 21-19 (52.5%) against the spread (ATS) in his career. Foles is 21-24 (46.7%) ATS overall, and 17-16 (51.5%) ATS with the Eagles.
