Houston Texans Betting Preview: The Best Winless Team

The Texans are 0-4, but this is a team whose season is officially on the line and is far better than their record suggests.

If you look at the Texans' schedule, they've played the Bills, Cowboys, Colts, and Bengals — four potential playoff teams.

Houston dropped an interception that would have beaten the Bills, outplayed the Bengals on a down-to-down basis, and lost a final-second coin flip to the Cowboys last week despite outgaining them 7.6 to 5.5 in yards per play.

More importantly, Houston played most of those games without Nico Collins, who totaled 118 yards and two touchdowns in his return against the Cowboys. The Texans' offense is a completely different beast with him on the field.

On defense, head coach DeMeco Ryans is finally taking over the playcalling to stop the bleeding on that end.

Tennessee Titans Betting Preview: Rock Bottom

There is absolutely nothing redeeming about the Titans through four weeks. They only covered against the Ravens because Lamar Jackson got hurt at halftime — otherwise, they were on pace to lose by 28 points.

Cam Ward continues to make egregious mistakes and continues to show nothing in the way of progress in his second season. On defense, the Titans lack the discipline to execute for four quarters.

Last season, an 0-3 Texans team with their backs against the wall played the Titans and obliterated them 26-0.

Tennessee simply does not have the offensive efficiency to keep pace in a game where the opponent is treating it like a playoff scenario.

Texans vs Titans Prediction, Betting Analysis

The Texans and Titans are deadlocked at 0-4. However, these two teams are in completely different stratospheres.

As handicappers, sometimes we have to play amateur psychologist, and the situational spot should heavily favor a desperate Houston team trying to get right against a far inferior divisional opponent.

Nico Collins elevates C.J. Stroud's metrics across the board, and DeMeco Ryans taking over the defense will likely result in maximum effort.

I think Houston blows them out.

Pick: Texans -7.5 (-105)
