The Action Network Podcast has ratcheted up the 2024 NFL Draft discussion.

Action Network experts Evan Abrams and Travis Reed joined Action Network Podcast host Brendan Glasheen to discuss NFL Draft betting strategy. The majority of the podcast was centered around a discussion of when to place bets on the NFL Draft. There is a certain sweet spot on when to place bets. If you wait too long, most of the good numbers will be gone.

However, both Abrams and Reed issued caution on making too many bets too early. There is a lot that can change between now and the draft.

"Try to disseminate accurate information and take a few longshots," Reed said. "When I say that, I mean the 50-1s and 60-1s. That's what I'm trying to do at this point. I'm figuring out that if this trade goes down, maybe this is possible."

The gentlemen talked about last season how they discussed Darren Waller moving on from the Las Vegas Raiders and how the Raiders could target a tight end in the first round. The Raiders ended up selecting Michael Mayer.

They discussed how important it is to distinguish betting on the draft from actual handicapping.

"This isn't exactly handicapping," Abrams said. "It's more bankroll management along with news and information. This is completely different than handicapping a single game."

The gentlemen also warned against overreacting to the combine. They brought up instances of Will Levis last season who was going as high as No. 3 overall in mock drafts after the combine and ended up being picked in the second round.

As betting on the draft continues to be more difficult, it's important to remember the information is good if it's the right information.
