Steelers vs. Buccaneers
By Chris Prince
We have a lot of factors working in the favor of Germie Bernard.
Let's start with the injuries in Pittsburgh, where both Michael Pittman Jr. and Roman Wilson are banged up, which thrusted Bernard into a much larger role last week. He responded in a big way, catching six of his nine targets for 80 receiving yards on a team-high 29% target share.
Bernard ran a route on 32-of-34 dropbacks last week — and now both Pittman and Wilson are both out once again.
The Buccaneers defense is stronger against the run and much more vulnerable through the air, so we should see a healthy dose of dropbacks here and a full-time role for Bernard.
While the data bros may scoff at this part (as it cannot be quantified with numbers), Aaron Rodgers has a long history of heavily targeting players he believes in, and he has taken a liking to Bernard.
Rodgers has sung his praises recently after putting him through an extensive test (look it up!), which Bernard passed with flying colors, and we saw what things can potentially look like last week.
Rodgers has been playing at a very high level over the past few weeks, and I fully expect the Bucs to focus on slowing down Jaylen Warren and DK Metcalf, which should put Bernard in more advantageous matchups.
I believe in this Rodgers/Bernard connection. I'm expecting this number to rise as we approach Sunday, so I'd suggest getting in early.
Pick: Germie Bernard Over 42.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
Titans vs. Colts
This is a good spot for Wan'Dale Robinson, and this line is a bit too low.
With their two stud CBs, the Colts run man coverage at a high rate, and it forces a significant amount of targets to slot WRs.
The Titans are 7-point underdogs in this spot, which means they will likely be trailing and forced into a passing game script.
Robinson has hit the over at this number in three of five games this season — and with this game being played indoors, it's an even bigger boost to the passing game.
I have Robinson projected to hit the over at this number at a 58% clip.
Pick: Wan'Dale Robinson Over 36.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
Saints vs. Giants
By Chris Prince
Isaiah Likely leads the Giants in target share (29.4%), and he leads all NFL tight ends as well. I don't see that slowing down in this matchup.
The Saints have allowed a whopping 34.3 points per game over their last three games. They have also allowed the seventh-most receiving yards per game to opposing tight ends (71.2).
We have a solid 45.5 total with close 1.5-point spread, and this feels like a game that could fly past this total.
The Giants' target tree is condensed right now between Likely and Malik Nabers, and Likely only has one game this season under eight targets.
Pick: Isaiah Likely Over 51.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
Panthers vs. Eagles
By Grant Neiffer
Even with Jalen Hurts missing this game, I still love these anytime touchdown odds for Dallas Goedert.
Saquon Barkley will miss this game, which should force more passing volume to the returning DeVonta Smith and Goedert, who has scored 14 TDs in his last 19 games, and will likely be safety blanket for backup QB Tanner McKee.
The Panthers' pass defense has been well below average this season, and with the Eagles being 3.5-point underdogs, there's a decent chance they're throwing late in this game.
I have the true odds here priced around +250.
Pick: Dallas Goedert Anytime TD (+330)
Chargers vs. Chiefs
By Chris Prince
The Chiefs will be without Rashee Rice this week, and along with the loss of Tyquan Thornton, that leaves plenty of routes and targets on the table — and I think we'll see Cyrus Allen soak up some of that opportunity.
Without Rice, the passing offense should flow through Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelce, but Allen should find his way on the field more than this number indicates.
Both Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid had positive things to say about Allen this week, and we saw what he is capable of bringing to the field in the preseason.
This bet certainly comes with the risk that the role simply isn't there yet for Allen, but I'm taking my shot on a player the Chiefs seem to believe in.
We also get the additional benefit of potential extra run for Allen if this game gets out of hand, with the Chiefs as big 8.5-point home favorites over the disappointing Chargers.
Pick: Cyrus Allen Over 12.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
Cardinals vs. Rams
By Derek Carty
THE BLITZ is forecasting 6.07 receiving yards for Blake Corum compared to 11.63 implied by sportsbooks, so I believe there is some value here.
If you take the under, you’d be projected to win 69% of the time, resulting in a 30% ROI. Based on a $100 wager, the expected value here would be $34.67.
This play is good down to at least -153.
