New York Giants Giants vs Dallas Cowboys NFL Preview

This game opened with the Cowboys as 6-point favorites over the Giants, and that's a number I just can't get to.

If you're just looking at last week's Giants-Commanders box score, it seems like New York a listless football team. But that's simply not the case.

The Giants were in striking distance for most the game and blew some scoring opportunities that cost them the game. Their defense showed its potential with three sacks on Jayden Daniels.

This New York defense is probably better than the Eagles' unit that the Cowboys faced on Opening Night.

It's just a one-game sample size, but the Giants are second in Defensive DVOA and first in Defensive Rushing DVOA.

This is notable because I don't think the Cowboys' running game is for real.

Everyone's hyped about Javonte Williams being "back" because he scored two touchdowns, but he totaled just 54 rushing yards on 15 carries for a paltry 3.6 YPC.

The fact that Dallas hung around with Philadelphia last week is deceptive. This is Eagles team is vulnerable, much like the Bills.

The Giants are better than what they showed, and they also have the potential upside of Jaxson Dart at quarterback if Brian Daboll wants to pull the plug on Russell Wilson.

Giants vs Cowboys Betting Predictions, Analysis

Ultimately, I just don't believe in Dallas.

CeeDee Lamb can put up a bunch of yards and I still won't waver on my position.

I don't buy George Pickens, either, and I don't love Dak Prescott constantly putting his guys in constant contested-catch situations that could lead to turnovers.

Week 2 road underdogs coming off a double-digit loss are 65% over the past 20 years.

That's just one of nine trends in Bet Labs that are partial New York in this spot.

Giants vs Cowboys Best Bet

  • Giants +6 (-115)
