Giants vs Eagles NFL Week 9 Preview
The Giants have proven they are a buttoned-up, professional operation under new head coach John Harbaugh. They are connected, polished, and currently the rightful favorites to win the NFC East.
The Giants now step into an incredibly advantageous scheduling spot, coming off a full bye week to face a battered divisional opponent.
Having that extra rest to self-scout and prepare gives the Giants a nice upper-hand here, especially when facing an Eagles roster that is completely falling apart at the seams.
Philadelphia is an absolute disaster right now. The Eagles have lost six straight games, the locker room is dealing with the fallout from the Jalen Hurts situation, and the front office seems content throwing the season away.
It feels incredibly unfair from a scheduling perspective that the Eagles are being forced to play back-to-back divisional opponents immediately following their opponents' bye weeks.
You could easily see the Eagles' gas tank hit zero in the second half against Washington last week. After spotting the Commanders a 10-0 lead, Philly just looked like a completely exhausted unit.
Tanner McKee was a giant statue in the pocket, and while new starting quarterback Joe Milton III brings an unknown escapability factor to the offense, it likely won't be enough to overcome the rest/coaching discrepancy.
Giants vs Eagles Prediction, Betting Analysis
We simply don't know where the floor is for this Philadelphia team right now.
Coaching matters immensely in these spots. John Harbaugh has the Giants playing motivated football with an eye on the NFC East crown, while the Eagles are dealing with an empty gas tank and a lost season.
The rest edge is too favorable to ignore. I'll lay the short number with New York.
Pick: Giants -3 (-118)
