New York Jets Betting Preview: Geno Dealing

When the Jets offense is at full strength, it is a truly dangerous unit. We might get to see that this week if Garrett Wilson passes. concussion protocol.

The Jets were missing offensive guard Dylan Parham for a while, and he has quietly been one of the best guards in the NFL this year. They have also dealt with a revolving door of injuries in the receiver room and the backfield.

But, with Breece Hall returning and the offensive line stabilizing, Geno Smith is in a great spot this week against Kanas City. And even if Wilson doesn't suit up, Omar Cooper Jr. and Adonai Mitchell have shown they are more than capable of stepping up.

When Smith is operating from a clean pocket and not getting pressured, he has been an elite quarterback this season.

While I constantly worry head coach Aaron Glenn blowing games with his horrific in-game decisions, we don't need Glenn to win this game for us. We just need to stay within the massive 10-point number.

The Jets' point differential suggests they should be closer to a 3.5-win team rather than their current 2-6 record.

Kansas City Chiefs Betting Preview: Defensive Warts

I still have massive questions about this Chiefs defense. Yes, their surface-level numbers look pretty good, but you have to account for their incredibly soft opposing quarterback schedule.

The Chiefs have faced Bo Nix twice, Sam Darnold, the dumpster fire Chargers, the Dolphins, and were absolutely lit up by both Daniel Jones and Kirk Cousins.

Now, the Chiefs are dealing with secondary injuries, potentially missing top draft pick Mansoor Delane once again.

Worse yet, the Chiefs just aren't generating consistent pressure. Bo Nix barely got touched in the pocket last week, which bodes extremely well for Geno Smith.

Jets vs Chiefs Prediction, Betting Analysis

Even coming off back-to-back losses, Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes view the regular season as a marathon, not a sprint.

This is the classic "Mahomes" spot. The Chiefs will likely win this game, but they are notorious for failing to cover large spreads. For example, if they have a seven-point lead with six minutes left, they are content to bleed the clock completely dry without trying to score again.

This is simply too many points for a Chiefs team that lacks a killer instinct against the spread and a defense that has benefited from an easy schedule. The back door should be wide open here.

Pick: Jets +10 (-110)
