NFL Odds, Win Totals: How Aaron Rodgers’ Injury Impacts League

The New York Jets were dealt a significant blow, as they announced on Tuesday that star quarterback Aaron Rodgers would be out for the season after tearing his Achilles against the Bills.
The Jets still pulled off the 22-16 victory despite losing Rodgers early in the first quarter.
The Bills were coming off another AFC East title and had some of the highest odds to win the Super Bowl entering the 2023 season. The Jets showed they could still go toe-to-toe even without Rodgers.
But sportsbooks don't believe the Jets can still be one of the top teams in the AFC. The Jets went from +2500 to win the Super Bowl at BetMGM to +5000 after the Rodgers injury.

The Jets' win total was at 9.5 with -125 juice on the over before the start of the season. The over had 36% of the bets and 33% of the handle at BetMGM.
The live win total after the Jets won their first game is now at 8.5 with -155 juice to the under at DraftKings.
The Bills opened at 10.5 and remain at 10.5 after the Week 1 loss.
Another AFC East rival, the Miami Dolphins, jumped up to 10.5 after a massive win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
The New England Patriots went from 7.5 to 6.5 despite almost pulling off the upset over the Philadelphia Eagles.
The injury sent shockwaves throughout the country, but it remains to be seen how much the Rodgers' injury will impact the league.
