Rams vs Giants Preview
Giants +6.5
The Rams are coming off a disappointing season opener in Australia, where they lost 27-7 to the 49ers. Matthew Stafford struggled to get anything going, throwing for only 155 yards on 25 pass attempts.
While this sets up for a bounce-back spot in a home game against the Giants, there are reasons for concern with Los Angeles here.
For one, top wideout Puka Nacua is "trending in the wrong direction" for this game, according to Adam Schefter. Playing without Nacua is tough, especially given the Rams' lack of wide receiver depth.
On top of that, the Giants looked quite impressive in their win over the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
Jaxson Dart was highly efficient, completing 23-of-29 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns. There's a good chance the Giants are much better than we thought headed into the season.
Add in the fact that Myles Garrett is out for the Rams in this one, and it could be a spot where the G-Men at least keep this one close.
That's why this parlay starts with Giants +6.5.
Jaxson Dart Over 213.5 Passing Yards
I'll add Jaxson Dart Over 213.5 Passing Yards because the projected game script here has the Giants playing from behind, resulting in more passing volume.
As 6.5-point underdogs, you're likely going to see Dart forced to the air.
It's a reasonable bar at 214.5 yards, especially in an indoor game environment.
This is a projected shootout with a 47.5-point total.
Malik Nabers Over 63.5 Receiving Yards
I'll finish it off with Malik Nabers Over 63.5 Receiving Yards.
Despite it being his first game off a torn ACL, Nabers looked terrific in Week 1, catching 6-of-9 targets for 69 yards.
Now that he has a game under his belt, expect him to feel a bit more comfortable on that repaired knee. It wouldn't surprise me to see him soar over this number in what should be a high-scoring affair.
While these two props are strongly correlated — since we have passing yards combined with receiving yards — I still think it's worth a look in a parlay, since both numbers are reasonable.
Bet on the Giants keeping this one close thanks to strong games from Dart and Nabers.
