Atlético Madrid welcome Bayer Leverkusen to the Cívitas Metropolitano Stadium on Wednesday for a crucial match in Group B of the Champions League.
The hosts come into the game in third, trailing FC Porto by two points in the race for qualification to the Round of 16.
Meanwhile, the German club is at the foot of the group with three points, but a result here would put the team right back into contention for the knockout stages.
Both teams desperately need a win, which could make this one of those special European nights in Spain.
Atletico and Griezmann Ready for a Big-Time Clash
These are the types of games that manager Diego Simeone lives for, and he usually finds a way to get his team up for the big moment.
Simeone’s side has really been unlucky in the competition so far. Through the first four matches, Madrid only have two goals on 5.9 expected and five big scoring chances, according to fbref.com.
However, the advanced metrics may be a bit skewed by the two dominating performances against Club Brugge. In the other two matches, Atlético lost the xG battle against Leverkusen and Porto.

Someone who will know a thing or two about European nights is Xabi Alonso, who recently became the head coach at Leverkusen.
The German fans have seen both extremes under Alonso, with the team routing Schalke 4-0 before giving up eight goals in heavy defeats to Porto and Eintracht Frankfurt.
There are signs that things may start to turn around under the new coach, as the club has won the expected goals battle in three of his four fixtures.
Dutch striker Jeremie Frimpong will be the key player for Leverkusen in this match, with the attacker leading the team with five goals in all competitions.

When I look at the odds for this match at FanDuel, the hosts are listed as the favorite at -140 odds on the moneyline, and the total is set at 2.5 goals. I’m not seeing much value in picking a side or a total, but I do see a great bet in the Player Props market.
So, my best bet is to back Griezmann to either score or assist anytime at even money.
If you haven't kept up with the Frenchman this season, he was on a very strict minutes limit for a good chunk of the early part of the campaign, where he was only allowed to play 30 minutes per match. However, the restriction is gone, and he has started to flourish.
In the last six games in all competitions, this same bet has cashed in four of those fixtures with three assists and a pair of goals. He has also racked up 41 shot-creating actions during this period.
Griezmann should like his chances against a Leverkusen side that has allowed 8.2 expected goals and 10 big scoring chances under the new coach. He also takes corners and free kicks for his team, which just adds to our chances here.
