Tottenham makes the trip to Aston Villa on Saturday, looking for a crucial win to keep hold of fourth place in the Premier League.
With Arsenal and Manchester United playing separate matches earlier in the day, Spurs will know where they are in the table before kickoff. And that could pile on the pressure for a result at Villa Park.
The Villans, who enter the weekend in 11th place on 36 points, have dropped their last three games. However, most fans will be happy to be safely away from the relegation zone.
These are teams with great attacking talent, which should make for an entertaining fixture filled with goals.
Gerrard Changing Landscape at Aston Villa
Before Steven Gerrard was hired as manager, Villa picked up only 10 points through 11 matches for an average of 0.91 points per game.
Since his appointment, though, he has led the team to 26 points in the 19 fixtures to improve the per-match average to 1.37 this season.
The club has owned a +1.7 xGDiff during his time in charge, which includes a +3.7 mark over the last six games, according to fbref.com.
One big reason has been the play of Philippe Coutinho, who arrived during the January transfer window. Coutinho has averaged 0.37 expected goals and 0.25 xA per match in his 11 fixtures with the Villans.
Spurs Making Strong Push Behind Conte, Kane
There have been some rocky moments for Spurs under manager Antonio Conte. However, he has his side in its best form of the season ahead of the stretch run.
Over the last six EPL games, the North London club has posted a +10 xGDiff and outscored opponents 19-5 during this time frame.
One key performer in those six matches has been star striker Harry Kane, who has either scored or picked up an assist in all of those fixtures.
When you also add in the stellar play from Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski, Conte has found his best attacking front three that is proving impossible to stop at this moment.

Betting Analysis & Pick
Oddsmakers at BetMGM are expecting this great run for Spurs to continue, listing them as the +120 road moneyline favorites. The total is set at 2.5 goals.
While I do think Tottenham would be a good team to get behind for another victory, my attention is locked into a total I feel is too low. That said, my best bet is to back the total clearing 2.5 goals at -115 odds.
Starting first with the visitors, Spurs have averaged 2.45 xG per 90 minutes and 3.5 goals per game over their last six league matches. This has been something that has improved greatly under Conte. Since his appointment, Tottenham has owned a 2.08 xG per contest average, scoring in multiple games in 14 out of 20 (70%) EPL fixtures.
Meanwhile, Villa has been no stranger to higher-scoring games either. This same bet would have cashed in four of the club’s last five in the English top flight and in six of its last eight contests at Villa Park.
If you’re looking to get involved in the player prop market, Kane is listed at +140 to score anytime and he has scored seven goals in nine EPL appearances against the Villans. Son, who has found the back of the net in three of four matches against Villa, has the same price to score as his strike partner.
This game screams goals to me, so I’m happy to take this price up to -140 as the best play on the board.
Pick: Total Over 2.5 Goals (-115)
