Teams desperate for a win meet Sunday in Premier League action when Leicester City welcomes Newcastle United to King Power Stadium.
Both clubs only have a lone win over their last six games, combining for an minus-8 goal difference during that span.
The 11th-place Foxes were dumped out of the Europa League with a midweek loss in Italy. Meanwhile, the Magpies are in the middle of a battle in the relegation zone, sitting on just 10 points.
While this might not jump off the page as the "must-watch" game of the weekend, these poor defensive sides could make this an entertaining encounter.
Subpar Leicester City Continues to Underachieve
If you picked a team outside the drop zone that has been the most disappointing this season, Leicester would be the top choice for most people that follow the English top flight.
The Foxes failed to qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League, plus they're seven spots behind the qualifying positions for next season.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has to fix the leaky defense if he wants things to improve. On the season, Leicester ranks in the bottom five of the EPL in expected goals allowed per match (1.65), goals allowed (26) and shots against per 90 minutes (15.47), according to fbref.com.
Veteran striker Jamie Vardy continues to be a top scorer in the league, boasting nine goals trailing only Mohamed Salah (14) in the Golden Boot race.
Hiring Howe Hasn't Changed Much at Newcastle
Newcastle was hoping for a bigger manager boost once Eddie Howe took over last month. However, it has resulted in just one victory in his first four games in charge.
Since he assumed the reins, the Magpies have posted a -0.7 xG difference in the draws with Brentford and Norwich City, the loss at Arsenal and the victory last week over Burnley. Not only was the win against the Clarets the first of the season for Newcastle, it was also the first clean sheet of its EPL campaign.
With Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United all on the horizon , Howe knows he has to get a positive result to try to advance up the league table and out of the relegation zone.

When you look at the odds for this match, DraftKings has Leicester City as a pretty big favorite at -140 odds on the moneyline. The total for the game is set at 2.5 goals.
I only see goals in this spot, which is why my best bet is to back the Single Game Parlay that combines Both Teams to Score (Yes) with the total clearing 2.5 goals at -125 odds..
We touched on the Foxes’ poor defensive metrics earlier, but things aren’t any better for Newcastle. The Magpies rank 18th in xGA (1.68), and 19th in opponent shots per 90 minutes (15.53) and big scoring chances surrendered (25) this season.
As for the Both Teams to Score side of the wager, it has cashed in four of the last six Leicester City games in league play and 17 of 23 (74%) across competitions this season.
Meanwhile for Newcastle, the same bet has hit in five of seven away from home in league action to go with an average of 3.38 goals per road game.
It will be interesting to see how Leicester City responds to the big disappointment midweek, but even with the great spot, I’m still not confident enough to back Howe’s Newcastle here.
That said, this should be a shootout between sides that just do not defend well.
