Tiafoe vs Musetti Quarterfinal Preview, Prediction
Frances Tiafoe Betting Preview
Few imagined this would be the year Frances Tiafoe reaches his best-ever result at the French Open.
Having never made it past the third round since first entering in 2015, and with six first-round exits, thee ninth time has been the charm for Tiafoe, who arrived at the 2025 French Open with a 4-9 record.
So unexpected was the 27-year-old's run that it set a landmark at Roland Garros, as he became the first American to reach the quarterfinals in Paris without dropping a set since Andre Agassi in 1995. Tiafoe and fellow countryman Tommy Paul became the first American duo to make it to the quarterfinals since Pete Sampras and Jim Courier in 1996.
Still, there's a caveat.
Sebastian Korda is the only other seeded player Tiafoe has faced, with Alex Michelsen and — most notably — world No. 4 Taylor Fritz dropping out earlier.
Lorenzo Musetti Betting Preview
By contrast, Italian Lorenzo Musetti arrives in the quarters on the back of two wins that proved his candidate tag.
First, he battled with die-hard Argentine Mariano Navone to seal his fourth-round ticket in four sets. Then, Musetti beat Barcelona Open champion Holger Rune (7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2) to make it to the quarters.
Unlike Tiafoe, Musetti is very much on a roll.
The Italian reached the semifinals on all three of the clay season's Masters 1000 events, making it to the final in Monte Carlo and including a straight-sets win over world No. 2 Alexander Zverev in the Rome quarters.
A natural and classic clay court player, Musetti's tactical approach and vintage strokes make him look at home on court Philippe Chatrier, where he could meet countryman Jannik Sinner in the decider for a first-ever all-Italian Grand Slam final.
Tiafoe vs Musetti Predictions, Betting Analysis
The good news for Tiafoe is that he leads the H2H with three wins to two, but the only time they met on clay (at the ATP Tour-level), it was Musetti who took the win.
