Carlos Avilan's Swiatek vs Collins Preview, Prediction
Iga Swiatek Betting Preview
The queen of clay tends to be overlooked at Wimbledon, and maybe understandably so: Iga Swiatek has only reached the quarterfinals in London once (2023).
But with some of the most dangerous rivals already ousted, she could aspire to repeat that accomplishment, although she needs to deliver in this matchup against Collins. If Swiatek advances, Elena Rybakina could be waiting for her in the Round of 16.
Swiatek did well in her only grass season tournament in Bad Homburg, beating Jasmine Paolini in the semifinals and losing to Jessica Pegula in the title match — both of those top-seeded players are already out of Wimbledon.
Meanwhile, Swiatek has improved in her two games in London after experiencing slow starts. Against Polina Kudermetova, she fought to take the first set 7-5, and then won easily the second 6-1. The game changed when Swiatek became more aggressive with her forehand, even if she was missing a few shots here and there.
On Thursday, Caty McNally surprised her 7-5 in the opening set, but Swiatek responded by taking the next two 6-2, 6-1. The world No. 4 had 17 out of her 36 unforced errors in that first set but was relentless and ended up with 44 winners in the match.
Danielle Collins Betting Preview
Although the hard courts is her favorite surface, Danielle Collins had her best performance at Wimbledon last year, when she reached the Round of 16. This week, she has been really impressive once again.
The 2022 Australian Open finalist has won all four sets so far. In the first round, Collins eliminated Camila Osorio 6-3 and 6-2 and then went on to beat Veronika Erjavec 6-4 and 6-1.
Collins' issue lies with the second serve since her points won percentages tend to drop significantly.
In 2025, the American has only won 49.1% of points with her second serve compared to 67.6% with her first. The tendency repeated in the first match versus Osorio (22 to 57), but she corrected against Erjavec.
This time around, any mediocre second serve to the middle of the court will be punished by Swiatek's swift forehand strokes.
Swiatek vs Collins Predictions, Betting Analysis
These two players know each other very well, having already met nine times.
Swiatek dominates the head-to-head, seven wins to two. Surprisingly, it was Collins who won their last encounter this year over clay in Rome, when Swiatek was still struggling to find her rhythm.
Most of Swiatek's wins were on hard courts, Collins's preferred surface, and in two sets.
It is clear who the favorite is here and why, although Collins' great form this week and Swiatek's recent lapses might make this more interesting in the end.
Pick: Swiatek -4.5 (+110, BetMGM)
