Fernando Romero's Sinner vs Bublik Preview, Prediction
Jannik Sinner Betting Preview
Few players look as unstoppable right now as world No. 1 Jannik Sinner. The Italian went into his three-month ban as tennis's greatest force and returned as if it were nothing, barely missing a beat since his return.
Granted, he did lose the Rome Masters final against Carlos Alcaraz, but in a very tightly matched duel like that, it's always going to be advantage Carlito in any clay game.
Since a hesitancy moment in the first round against Arthur Rinderknech, when Sinner went 4-0 down in the third set, he's been a steamroller, retiring Richard Gasquet and leaving just three games on the table for Jiri Lehecka in the third round.
An in-form Andrey Rublev, fresh from a Hamburg final appearance, looked like a potential first stone in the road for Sinner, but the Russian was also swatted away in straight sets.
Now, the Italian looks on pace to become the first Grand Slam winner without dropping a set since Rafael Nadal did it at Roland Garros 2020.
Alexander Bublik Betting Preview
Alexander Bublik appears to have started finding tennis easy again.
While always a tricky player to draw, the Kazakhstani wasn't on anybody's top candidate lists, with a round of 16 appearance in the Madrid Masters his best performance at the ATP Tour level all season.
Still, the writing should've been on the wall. After a solid debut against Aussie Jack Duckworth, he came back from two sets down to oust a plyer who was in some people's favorites lists: world No. 9 and Monte Carlo semifinalist, Alex de Minaur.
From there, Bublik took care of the up-and-coming Henrique Rocha, upset teenage sensation Jakub Mensik, and set up a fourth-round clash with another top-10 player in Jack Draper.
However, the world No. 5 and Indian Wells champion Brit came undone under Bublik's inspired barrage of drop shots and spectacular shot-making from the baseline.
"Sometimes in life there is only one chance and I had a feeling that was mine," said Bublik, who reached his best ranking of 17th in 2024 but arrived at the French Open in 62nd and with a 7-13 record. "I couldn't let it slip. Standing here is the best moment of my life."
Sinner vs Bublik Predictions, Betting Analysis
I'll be the first to admit I expected Bublik's Cinderella story to wrap up a match ago.
However, his determination and unpredictability proved a lot for a Draper, who is still adjusting to life as a favorite on the tour.
Jannik Sinner, however, is fairly adapted, I'd say.
While undoubtedly the Kazakhstani will swing for the fences, with little to lose and a whole lot to gain, the chasm in tennis talent between him and the Italian is one no amount of feel-good can bridge.
Not only has Sinner yet to drop a set in this tournament, but he's only been pushed to seven games once (courtesy of Rinderknech's magical minutes in the opening round), and his matches have only cleared this over once.
I'll back Bublik to push Sinner harder than any of his previous rivals, but I'll be shocked if Bublik takes a set from the world No. 1
