The third round of the 2025 US Open begins on Friday, August 29, from the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, and there are plenty of matches to like from a betting perspective. Let's look at a pair of US Open WTA matches below.
Here are my US Open predictions for Aryna Sabalenka vs Leylah Fernandez and Elena Rybakina vs Emma Raducanu.

Four years ago at the US Open, Leylah Fernandez had her most important victory just three days after turning 19 years old. She won in three sets, 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-4, and her rival was none other than Aryna Sabalenka.
Although Fernandez lost to Emma Raducanu in that 2021 final and has won four ATP titles in her career, that tournament is still her biggest claim to fame. The victory over Sabalenka also gives her the head-to-head advantage coming into tonight's match as that was their lone encounter.
Fernandez has failed to live up to the high expectations, but she is still young and holds the 30th spot in the WTA rankings.
As she did back then, she can still deliver surprises: she won the Washington WTA 500 a month ago, beating better-ranked players such as Jessica Pegula and Elena Rybakina along the way.
However, the question remains: Can she overtake this current version of Sabalenka, the current US Open champion?
Not likely.
Despite early struggles in both rounds, Sabalenka has won all four sets. If her serve is effective and she does not force too many shots, it will be difficult for Fernandez to compete as the Canadian is not a great returner.
Sabalenka needs to start strong and avoid giving her rival any momentum early. Fernandez is playing well right now — she has only lost one set so far, and won the other four by three or more games.
Look for this match to give Sabalenka a bit of a challenge.
Pick: Over 19.5 (-130, BetMGM)

Emma Raducanu Odds | +140 |

Despite her nine WTA singles titles and outstanding career, Elena Rybakina appears to be falling short of her potential, and no other tournament has highlighted this more than the US Open.
The World No. 10 has failed to reach the quarterfinals here, a feat she has accomplished at all the other Grand Slams. She prefers hard courts, ranking fifth in the WTA Elo ratings for this surface, and yet this tournament resists her at the end of every season.
However, in preparation for the US Open, Rybakina had a string of good performances with the same round as her ceiling. She reached the semifinals in Washington, Montreal and Cincinnati.
This week in New York, she has reasons to be more optimistic after winning all four sets so far, and three of them by three games or more.
Her opponent, Emma Raducanu, has also had a strong start in Flushing Meadows, which makes this one of the best matches of these early rounds.
The Brit also won every set, and all of them were either 6-1 or 6-2, reminding everyone of her talent and how she had won this tournament in 2021.
Raducanu and Rybakina both possess strong baseline games, characterized by powerful forehands. This match promises to be closely contested, so the over is the best choice.
Pick: Over 21.5 (-130, BetMGM)
