It proved a seamless transition from the long rallies and high bounces of the clay court season to slick and quick grass for Carlos Alcaraz. The world number two didn't miss a beat, arriving at the Queen's Club Championships as Roland Garros champion and proving an instant success. Czech Jiri Lehecka gave him some trouble in the final, but it wasn't enough to deny the Spaniard his 21st singles title at just 22 years old.

At the other end of the court and his career is Italian Fabio Fognini, who announced ahead of the Rome Masters in May that it'd be his last time playing the tournament. At 38, retirement is imminent, and if the former world number nine's recent performances are anything to go by, also necessary.

In what traditionally has been the Italian's worst grand slam performance-wise — only ever reaching the third round — I don't expect a vintage performance from Fognini, who was erratic even at his best. Expect Alcaraz to sweep him up in a quick game and move forward without issue.

It's a vintage duel on Monday at Wimbledon as two players with plenty of history on the tour matchup for a second-round spot.

It wasn't that long ago that Cameron Norrie was a top ten player, reaching his best-ever eighth-place ranking in 2022. However, the Brit has struggled to reach the same heights since a forearm injury in 2024 took him out for a couple of months. Since then, he has achieved mixed results, including a fourth-round appearance at the French Open, alongside early exits in both the Indian Wells and Miami Masters.

It's a different story for the evergreen Roberto Bautista Agut, who's still going strong at 37 and seems forever cemented to the top 50. The quick pace of grass tennis has been kind to Bautista, who struggled to advance past any second round during clay season, but highlighted his season with a semifinal spot at Queen's and a quarterfinal in Mallorca. His flat shots and classic technique suit grass, so we could be in for a vintage performance.

While the winner may be a coin flip between those two, I doubt we'll see a hard-fought encounter between two players who aren't at their best, be it due to injury or age. The total seems way too high, begging for a five-setter to clear it, so the under is the way to go.

Pick: Under 39.5 (-115 via DraftKings)
