With the 2025 WNBA season in full swing, The Action Network has analyzed the subreddits of all 13 WNBA fandoms to find out which fans are the most polite and, on the contrary, which fandoms are the most foul-mouthed.
Initially, a sample of comments from the WNBA fandom subreddits was collected (with a minimum of 1,000 comments per fandom). Subsequently, the percentage of comments that included swear words was analyzed.
According to an analysis of 77,000 comments of all the WNBA fandoms, the Minnesota Lynx were found to be the most foul-mouthed fandom since 3.076% of the comments on their subreddit included swear words. New York Liberty turned out to be the second most foul-mouthed WNBA fandom (2.42% of their comments included swear words), followed by Chicago Sky in third place with 2.406% of their comments including swear words.
Additionally, we conducted a sentiment analysis of the comments to reveal the percentage of fans’ comments with negative, positive, or neutral sentiment. The Chicago Sky had the highest percentage of negative comments (24.64%), followed by the Minnesota Lynx with 21.552% of their comments being negative. In third place, the Indiana Fever (20.689% of their comments were negative).
On the other hand, the Dallas Wings were found to be the most polite fandom since only 0.948% of their comments included swear words. The second most polite fandom turned out to be the Connecticut Sun, with only 1.076% of their comments containing swear words.
You can have a look at the results for all the WNBA fandoms in the table below. As you can see, the Washington Mystics, Atlanta Dream, and Phoenix Mercury were part of the analysis. However, they are excluded from the ranking to maintain accuracy since their subreddits didn’t meet the threshold of having at least 1,000 comments each.
