Valkyries vs. Aces Preview, Prediction

The Las Vegas Aces are just 2.5-point favorites in hosting Golden State for Commissioner Cup Game No. 2.

And this, despite beating the Valkyries by 10 in Golden State last week, and that's while leading by 20 plus points late into the contest before a late rally from the Natalie Nakase-led squad.

The Aces have Jewell Lloyd on the injury report as questionable to play with a leg injury, but I still like them to cover in this spot.

Golden State is legit. They're tough, they're second in net rating and fourth in defense, and they're coming off a spirited three-point loss to the Minnesota Lynx.

But the Aces, while 6-3, still have plenty of room to grow from their start to the season, which hasn't looked as impressive as their record would suggest. In their defense, they're only about to play their third home game of the year, and weirdly, they're 0-2.

The Aces being just third in defense, fifth in net and eighth in offense shouldn't hold over the entire year, and I think we'll start to see some positive regression with 6-of-9 contests coming at home.

Best Bet: Aces -2.5 (-115, DraftKings)
