Lynx vs. Storm Preview
It’s first versus worst Monday night in Seattle when the WNBA-leading Lynx visit the cellar-dwelling Storm. These teams will meet for a pair in the Emerald City, wrapping up their two-game series Wednesday.
Minnesota has quickly rebounded from its only rough patch of the season, winning five straight since a rare two-game skid. The Lynx completed a perfect 4-0 homestand Saturday with a 101-93 victory over Portland.
Kayla McBride led the way with 24 points, moving into the top 20 on the WNBA career scoring list. She’s averaging 17.6 points and has scored at least 20 in six consecutive contests.
Rookie of the Year favorite and MVP candidate Olivia Miles added 14 points and 10 assists against the Fire. The All-Star starter paces Minnesota with 19.1 points and 5.9 assists per game.
The Lynx continue to get outstanding production throughout their starting lineup, with All-Stars Natasha Howard (16.5 PPG, 7.9 RPG, 1.7 SPG) and Courtney Williams (15.6 PPG) providing plenty of offensive support.
Seattle has lost four in a row and six of seven this month, despite another dominant performance from All-Star center Dominique Malonga.
The second-year star posted 28 points and 14 rebounds Friday against Indiana, but the Storm couldn’t overcome Caitlin Clark’s historic 45-point, 10-assist performance in a 110-107 loss.
Malonga has emerged as Seattle’s centerpiece, averaging 16.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. Natisha Hiedeman (15.8 PPG), Flau’jae Johnson (13.2 PPG, 1.3 SPG) and Awa Fam (11.3 PPG) have also delivered consistent production.
Minnesota controlled the first meeting between these teams on June 6, earning an 88-68 triumph at home.
The Storm jumped out to an early nine-point advantage, but the Lynx claimed the lead by halftime and never looked back. Howard scored 27 points, while Miles added 19 on an efficient 9-for-14 shooting night.
Minnesota owns a league-best 10-2 road record, while Seattle has struggled at home with a 4-8 mark.

Lynx vs. Storm Prediction
Last week, I recommended Olivia Miles over 19.5 points against the Sparks.
Despite having 18 points midway through the third quarter, that’s exactly where she landed after missing two layups late in the period and never attempting another shot in the fourth.
The market has responded by lowering her points prop to 17.5, and I’m going right back to the well.
Action PRO projects Miles for 19.77 points, creating a 15% edge against the current number.
More importantly, nothing has changed beneath the surface.
Miles has attempted between 13 and 18 field goals in each of her last eight games, clearing 17 points in six of those contests. She’s also consistently generated offense from every level of the floor, averaging more than five 3-point attempts per game while shooting 46.2% (12/26) from deep this month and converting 32 of her last 38 free throws.
The matchup has already proven favorable.
Miles scored 19 points against Seattle in June despite taking just 14 shots, and her offensive role has only expanded since.
More than 70% of the public money believes Seattle will cover the 9.5 points. If this is a close game, expect Miles to be a featured weapon for Minnesota down the stretch.
Best Bet: Olivia Miles Over 17.5 Points (-118, FanDuel)
