Former three-division champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist, Vasiliy Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KO), will make his long-awaited return to the boxing ring Saturday. Loma is set to face up-and-coming lightweight challenger, Jamaine Ortiz (16-0-1, 8 KO), in a main event matchup at Madison Square Garden on ESPN.

Ortiz enters this matchup off of the biggest win of his career against former champion Jamel Herring in May. Lomachenko's layoff since his last fight hasn't been the longest in his career, but it's significant as the Ukrainian fighter remained in his home country to support the war effort against the Russian invasion.

In the interim, he missed out on an opportunity to contend for the undisputed lightweight title, but may get a second chance depending on the outcome against Ortiz.

Lomachenko vs. Ortiz Odds

Odds as of Thursday and via DraftKings.

Loma is a massive favorite to get the win here and based on his reputation, this number isn't all that surprising — it's also his highest ML price across the market.

After losing to Teofimo Lopez in 2020 and undergoing rotator cuff surgery, Lomachenko has looked sharp in his two most recent wins. He scored a TKO win over Masayoshi Nakatani and a runaway decision win over Richard Commey, which featured a knockdown in Round 7.

Oddsmakers have the juice on the over 10.5 rounds (-120), on the fight not to go the distance (-140) and Lomachenko to score a TKO win (-135). Meanwhile, Ortiz is 11-1 to get a win of any kind and 20-1 or longer for both method of victory props.
