The Highlights
- We go over a traumatic route to work for noted wildlife lover Mark Gallant.
- Mark delivers one of his patented no rain guarantees.
- The hot Texas sun could once again fuel offense.
Howdy, y'all. Nice day for running birds over with your car, ain't it? At least that's what I did on my way to the office.
Great start to the day!
Anywho, I'm delivering my third ever no-rain guarantee tonight and I'm the most confident I've ever been. Let's hope so because you generally want "guarantees" to be hitting at higher than a 50% rate.
Let's take a look at the 10 games starting at 7 p.m. ET or later using FantasyLabs' Weather Ratings.
Highest Weather Ratings
- Athletics at Rangers: 87
- Marlins at Cardinals: 68
- White Sox at Twins: 62
Once again, there will be some standard Texas heat at Globe Life Park in Arlington tonight. As was the case last night, winds will also be blowing in, but the heat and humidity are enough to overcome the wind, if you will, and keep the rating very high. Last night, there were almost identical conditions and the two teams combined for six dongs.
Bets on the total for this game are split, but more than 75% of dollars are on the over, and the total has risen from 10 to 10.5 across the market.
The Astros game would have been the second-highest matchup of the evening, but Minute Maid Park is once again closing the roof. Get used to it.
Other than Texas, there aren't exactly picturesque hitting conditions on the slate. Wei-Yin Chen and Jack Flaherty will be dealing with some sweaty conditions in Saint Louie, as my grandparents call it, in a game that features an 8.5 total. Minnesota and the Phillies-Cubs game (61) feature the only other ratings above 50.
Lowest Weather Ratings
- Dodgers at Pirates: 32
- Tigers at Red Sox: 34
- Yankees at Blue Jays: 35*
Pittsburgh, which will be in the mid-60s with hardly any breeze, has the worst hitting conditions of the night. The total for that game has remained at 8.5 since opening.
Boston will also have temperatures starting with a six, with winds blowing from right to left. That total has seen some action on the under, as 54% of bets and 80% of dollars have pushed it from 9.5 to 9.
I originally asterisked this game because I thought there was a chance they would close the roof. Guess I was right.
Game note: Rogers Centre will close roof Wednesday.

I'm leaving it asterisked anyway because unlike other roofed parks, Toronto sometimes changes its mind. The next lowest games on the slate are in Anaheim and Cincinnati, which both feature 45 Weather Ratings.
