Charlie Wright’s Orioles vs Mariners Preview
It seemed like Seattle had solved T-Mobile Park early in the season.
The Mariners were rolling on offense at home in what had been the worst place to hit in the league.
But that's all over now.
The Mariners rank dead last among MLB lineups in OPS and wOBA vs. RHP at home over the past 30 days. They're only slightly better overall in that span (29th in both metrics). Seattle ranks 25th in wRC+ against righties since the start of May.
Meanwhile, Baltimore has struggled on offense for much of the season.
The O’s rank 19th in OPS and 20th in wOBA vs. RHP over the past 30 days.
They’ll square off against Bryan Woo, who has been one of the most consistent starters in the league. Woo posted a crisp 2.58 ERA in May, including four straight quality starts. He's one off the league lead in that category.
Lefties have plagued Woo at times, but he's held them to a .231/.264/.410 slash line this season.
Zach Eflin will oppose Woo.
He had pitched well through 3 starts before hitting the IL with a lat strain. Eflin struggled in three outings since returning, but dominated the White Sox last time out with seven scoreless innings.
It was good to see Eflin's velocity slightly up in that start. He gets another favorable matchup here.
Pick: F5 Under 4 (-125, BetMGM)
